The staff at SPCA treated me very nice – lots of walks good food and they told some rescue people how sweet I was. So here we go VIP RESCUE stepped up and arranged for me to have a dental cleaning and a small cyst taken off my hip. I am getting better and I am in a foster home. MAX is a Male (Neutered), Bichon Frise, 7 Years Old, Weight 25 lbs., Cute & Sweet!! MAX is a sweet boy who must leave his loving 89-year-old mommy. She truly loved him but can no longer care for him, so she wanted to make sure he went somewhere safe. She made sure that VIP Rescue received Max with a blanket that she lovingly crocheted for him.
He’s up to date on his vaccines and heart worm negative. He had a small hot spot that is nearly healed up and is currently taking some follow up meds. MAX is curious for other dogs but does not seem to engage them as of yet. He has a beautiful white, curly coat that requires grooming. MAX loves all kids, big or small! MAX is used to wearing a collar for walks. He is a puller but I think if we switch him to a harness he would be happier. He loves belly rubs and lying on his homemade blanket. He just needs your love to keep him happy!!!

A solid black mini-poodle at about 15lbs. He is UTD with vaccines and neutered- HW negative. Cole is a VERY energetic young pup of about 3-4 yrs ( a guess ). He loves to dance on his hind feet. He will greet you at the door so happy that he dances the jig. The picture also shows one of his favorite — playing fetch with squeaky toys. Micro-chipped too!
He gets along well with other dogs . . . cats unknown . . as well as children, but see no potential problems with children as he allows his foster to take the ball from his mouth on the second day of rescue involvement. Initial vet visit determined he has a cataract forming, but it does not interfere with his activities. Rescue is hoping to resolve this issue. Cole knows his commands and minds exceptionally well for a newbie with rescue. He is also housetrained and chose to sleep in a crate his first night with rescue. Soffie is thought to be a 5 year old, Female Shih Tzu weighing about 18 lbs. Spayed and vaccines all up to date – HW negative and micro-chipped!! Soffie came to us as a mess of hair and fleas!!! But after some loving and grooming she has become the princess we all knew she was. She has beautiful hazel eyes and a cute curly tail!
She is quite independent and will go lay down or sun by a window until you come give her attention. She loves to follow you and see what you are doing. She also loves to play and run around. She is very vocal while playing, wanting some attention, and when others first come in your home. She is quick to quiet down and loves all human friends!!! She is currently fostered in a home with teenagers and loves them all the same!! Soffie is an easy lap dog — just wants you to show her some attention and take her for walks. She currently uses a harness and enjoys long walks. Just be careful in the heat…she has lots of hair keeping her warm! She is a long haired dog (non-shedding) so she requires timely bathing and grooming. She does have allergies to fleas, so keeping up with grooming and flea prevention is critical.

We are begging for your assistance in fostering, maybe your first one, or committing to a week or two, while we get a handle on things. Can you take one or two more if you already have a foster or two? Do you know Anyone that can foster?? Even short term? VIP Rescue pays for all the pets medical needs, and you supply the love!

Foster parents will provide a clean, nurturing, indoor home for the dog; bring the animal to the designated veterinarian, groomer or other needed services. Foster parents ensure each animal receives proper medical and other routine treatments as prescribed, giving medication as needed (we teach the inexperienced!), and bring the dog to VIPR adoption events held at pet stores and local venues.
No. We hold regularly scheduled events at local pet events where prospective adopters can come and meet our dogs. Our screening process includes a written application, an interview with an adoption counselor, a vet check, and sometimes a home check.
VIP Rescue is responsible for caring for your foster animals when you need to go out of town or during an emergency and when you are unable to care for your foster dog. It is important to schedule this ahead when known with your foster coordinator. If an unexpected event occurs, your foster coordinator will work with you to find another foster to take the VIPR animals.
We prefer that you commit to fostering your animal until an adoptive home can be found. Unfortunately, we cannot predict how long this will take. It depends on the animal’s breed, age, temperament, as well as how proactive you are about marketing your foster animal and attending adoption events. If you can only foster for a specific period of time, please be certain to indicate this up front to the VIPR Foster coordinator you are working with.
As you signed in the Foster Agreement, vet care for foster animals must be provided by an approved VIPR Vet. All vetting is paid for by VIPR. If a visit is deemed necessary and it is a non-emergency issue, simply contact a Foster Coordinator to make an appointment. You are then responsible for taking the animal to the vet. If your schedule does not permit, your VIPR Foster Coordinator will find another VIPR volunteer to take the dog.
VIPR will make every effort to ensure a good and safe foster match. However, there are times when this will fail. In this case, contact your VIPR Foster Coordinator as soon as possible. Many times, problems can be solved by trying a few new things and/or by giving the animal time to adjust to your home. We may also have a trainer work with you. Other times, an animal may simply not be a good fit for your home or lifestyle. VIPR never wants to put the safety of the Foster Volunteer or others at risk.

The silly people at the shelter gave me that name, but my foster mom calls me Billy and I really like that. I’m thought to be a Maltese/Poodle mix. I’m 6 years old and weigh in at a mere 8 pounds. I am walking well on my leash, I don’t mind being crated and I am a champ when it comes to my house training. I am very polite with all people, but due to my small stature, I’d like to go to a home without tiny children or gigantic dogs (unless they’re respectful of me).
