VIP Rescue is a humane organization that puts animals first. If we learn of an animal in need, we will respond if we are at all able. We do not run a shelter or sanctuary and have no facility so foster people are EXTREMELY VALUABLE to our rescue operation. We are limited to the number of animals we can rescue by the number of foster homes in which to place them. This is where VIPR fosters come in. The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can rescue. The VIP foster Volunteer Program is a great way to help animals in need. By providing an animal a temporary home, the fosterer has given that animal another chance at life that he/ she otherwise would not have had.
What is Fostering
Next to owning a dog, there is nothing more enjoyable or rewarding than fostering a rescue dog. Fostering a VIPR dog is providing an interim home for a rescue dog until permanent placement is found. Some animals need only days in foster care, while others may need care for a few months. VIPR pays for all medical care and grooming. VIPR Fosters provide food, shelter, love and patience. Some dogs need help with house training, socialization and obedience, medications, etc. By offering your time, energy and home to an animal in need, you prepare the animal for adoption into a permanent home. Most VIPR dogs come from animal control on their “last day” so your foster home saves a life. We screen our applicants thoroughly but the foster family is consulted on potential adopters for their dog. We meet potential adopters and decide whether or not the applicant is a good match for their dog. VIP depends on it’s volunteers to save dogs lives every day! We are an “ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE“.
