Meet Hannah!  

FENCED YARD at RESIDENCE REQUIRED:  NO EXCEPTIONS

Hannah is approximately 2 yrs thought to be Maltese/Shih Tzu blend that will charm your pants off weighing in at 13 lbs.    She came to VIP Rescue with her 1 puppy, she was the perfect mother, and she is preparing to find her own home.

She is very much still a puppy with lots to learn.  Her  new home will have a fenced yard where she can chase squirrels, lizards, play ball, and run like the wind.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  (We have many applications for Hannah but so far no one has the fenced yard she is dreaming of!)    Inside, Hannah needs lots of toys in a basket she can empty multiple times a day and take to her bed – the bigger the better with squeaks please!  It keeps her occupied, and she will gladly play fetch with you and her toys.  She loves to perch herself on top of your sofa and chairs, so she needs to be welcome on your furniture.  She especially like to perch if there is a window she can watch everything going on.  She has not met a stranger, and she does well with like-size dogs so long as they love to play.  However, it does take a day or two for her to warm up to other dogs and engage.  She likes to ride in the car, has learned to ride in the cart at Petsmart, has ridden on the golf cart, and just wants your presence 24×7.  Yet, she is independent and can entertain herself for hours.  She is black with some brown and white markings…….she does not shed.  Her eyes will melt your heart.    She is crate trained, and before coming to rescue she was pee pad trained.  We have worked diligently on her potty training outside, and if we take her out every 2-3 hours, it is a success.  Overnite she will sleep in your bed and have no accidents – for 7-8 hours.  You will need to be disciplined  to continue her house training.  She is very smart, she knows come, sit, NO, and a short stay.  She loves treats and will do anything you ask for a reward!  She aims to please.   She rarely barks unless she needs something,    Hannah requires her new home to have a fenced yard to run and chase squirrels, birds, leaves, play ball, or chase lizards and a home where you are home most of the time.  She has learned to walk on a leash and requires a harness for walks.

Hannah will be spayed this week, and post healing she will be ready for her new home.  She has had all her vaccinations, she is heartworm negative, microchipped, and in excellent health!  We adopt to Florida residents.  Hannah needs frequent brushing and grooming, and is good for grooming except she hates the dryer.   You will need to travel to Leesburg, FL to meet Hannah.  Homes with a fenced yard will take precedence.  A home visit will be a pre-requisite.  Her adoption donation is $400.

Hi Fans! My name is Walter, and all I want for the Holidays is MY OWN HOME. I hope that Santa finds me one. If you know anyone that could find it in their heart to take in a Senior Man – I promise to be a very good boy! Yes, I am a senior boy, I am great on your lap, like to be with you wherever you go, and I snooze a lot. I was found as a stray, I was a hot mess, but my Foster Home has restored my dignity and faith in mankind. I love my Foster Dad! I have adjusted to my new lifestyle quite nicely. But – I am looking for something permanent. I have some arthritis, I have had a dental, and I am current on my vaccinations, and am heartworm negative. I am microchipped and weigh about 8 pounds.  I am fine with other dogs, would likely be fine with cats too. At my age, I am not so interested in other animals or long walks. I am quite vocal when I want something, and will tell you all about it even if you don’t ask! I am quite content sitting cuddling with you, and staying at your side. Meet Rex!  Rex is such a sweet, kind, loving little boy. He came into VIP Rescue in rough shape, having been attacked by another dog, but thankfully he has almost completely recovered from his injuries. He gets along great with a pack of 4 other dogs and is housetrained. Smart too, very smart. He is heartworm  positive so his new family will have to live close enough to get him to his time sensitive appointments at our vet in Palm Harbor. He has had all his shots, micro chipped, neutered and has had a dental, approximately 6-7 years young and about 12 lbs . Calm, loving, sweet little boy.

Are you in the market for fun, fun, fun?  Do you have a huge heart for love?  Is patience a virtue you possess?  Then Acorn is the puppy for you.  At 5 months old, mostly potty trained, and a true charmer, Acorn is waiting for his forever home.  He is very intelligent, learning how to use the dog door on day 1.  He loves to play and chew bones, as most puppies do.  He is improving his leash walking skills.  He true uniqueness is his sweet calm demeanor.  He is a true joy to have in the home and plays well with older dogs.

Acorn is one of those special something something breeds ! He is just 5 months old and 12 lbs.

He is current on his shots, neutered, micro chipped , to young to be heartworm tested but now on prevention.

Surprisingly , he is not a wild child and is really nicely engaging . He is gentle and curious and quite smart . He is wanting to please so he will be easy to train.

UPDATE 11 20 19

Snoopy continues to improve.  He now weighs 18lbs, his coat is growing back beautifully.  He is still shy with  of strangers, but warms when approached slowly. I can tell he’s feeling a lot better, as he really enjoys going for a walk . He gets very excited with squirrels in the area, but we’re working on that. Snoopy is very affectionate and enjoys snuggling up to you.

Snoopy wandered info rescue after being on the streets for a while .. He was tragically underweight , and we held our breath to see if he would survive, He has now gained 4 lbs and was strong enough to get his vaccinations. He still needs to be neutered and is also heartworm positive. He is current on his shots and is micro chipped

He has a long road to recovery , but he is certainly on his way . Thanks so much for the donations.

Snoopy is thought to be 6 years old and a small rough coat terrier type. He likes other dogs and appears to be good around children. He is not cat tested . He is slow to warm up but is fine when he determines you are trust worthy. Toys are not his thing yet . BUT treats are .. He will remind you where you keep them and loves to ‘catch” treats. He is very sweet , medium energy, good on a leash , and is making great progress on his house training . He does great in a car !

Simply Susie is thought to be a 6 year old 12 lb Shih tzu mix . She arrived as a hot mess, but things are looking up for her . She is now current on her shots, spayed, micro chipped, had a dental with extractions and is being treated for heartworm disease . Her skin condition is also well on it’s way to healing !

Her previous life was in a house of horrors, and she is already showing her gratitude for being spared . She gets a b-  for housetraning ,  a c for leash walking and an A++ for love and kisses !

We are accepting application for loving pet parents , who live within reasonable driving range to our vet in Palm Harbor. You must be able to get Susie to her date sensitive  heartworm treatments . Please educate your self on heartworm disease before you submit your application. There will be about 5 DATE  sensitive appointments, to get her successfully treated.

Dora is a 16 year old tiny poodle weighing in at 4.5 pounds.  Her owner turned her in as a stray, so VIP to the RESCUE!  We have fattened her up, she has had a dental, and her right eye has been repaired.   She has a lot of personality and she loves her person.  She gives kisses generously!  She can be vocal, she is not shy, and she will let you know when she wants something.  She likes her short walks.  She likes sitting in your lap cuddling.  She loves to be carried around and sees little need to walk herself around if you will oblige.  She LOVES snoozing on your lap.

Dory has had all her vaccinations and is heartworm negative.

Dory would do well in a home with other senior calm dogs or no other dogs…….  She has no interest in other animals, her new owner with an empty loving open lap is her only wish.

Dory is in great shape for 16 yrs old!  We realize it takes a special person to take in a senior like Dory, but she will give you unconditional love every moment of every day she has……..and what more could one really ask for?  Dora means, the GIFT, and we hope to find the perfect place for our “GIFT.”

Ella is a daring little shih tzu mix who was found as a stray , turned into our vet and was in DESPERATE  need of immediate medical treatment . She is just 6.7 lbs and thought to be about 10 years young . She is current on her shots, spayed, micro chipped, had a dental with extractions , being treated for an ear infection , and is now on heartworm prevention.

After all is said and done ! Looks like she is a spunky little gal , ready to meet her for every family . She is on a specific food , to help her gain some weight !

LeeLee is thought to be a maltese/terrier mix . She is about one year old and 9.5 lbs . LeeLee is current on her shots , micro chipped, spayed , had a dental and is on heartworm prevention. Happy and energetic, LeeLee will want to play a whole bunch!

Up Date SD (Single Dog) in search of LH (Loving Human).  My likes: Belly rubs, short walks in the neighborhood, bones and toys.  My ideal human: an open heart, a gentle hand and a house full of bones and toys.  My ideal day:  Starts with a yummy breakfast followed by a short walk in the neighborhood.  A few toys or a bone to occupy the rest of my morning to early afternoon.  I might try to slip in an nap or two before dinner.  After a lovely dinner, another walk and a belly rub session until bed time.

Meet Cosby , the most lovely dog ever . living life laced with buckshot . Add being heartworm positive to the mix , he deserves the world’s best forever home . He is thought to be 5 years young , and about 23 lbs .Some sort of terrier mix  He is current on his shots , microchipped, neutered , had a dental and is being treated for heartworm disease .

You would think he would be afraid of humans after being shot , but he is the most gentle , kind , thoughtful dog that have been here in a long time . He still wants to be loved by humans . He wants you to pet him .He wants to follow you . He wants you to love him. He wants your respect .

With him being treated for heartworm , he needs to have his new family be able to get him to our vet in Palm Harbor , for some very date sensitive treatment appointments .

While searching for the right description for Roux , a few words came to mind, carefree, casual, dégagé, lackadaisical, nonchalant, unaffected, unconcerned, unfussy, unperturbed, untroubled, unworried.  Let’s just leave it at mellow .

Of course , that might change .

He is most likely a terrier/chi mix . He is about 2 years old and about 9 lbs. He is current on his shots, neutered, micro chipped and on heartworm prevention.

He is a cuddle kinda guy and super sweet .. Some what confused with his new surroundings  but seems to be find with young teen humans . Apparently , he was chillin’ out during the house training and leash walking class , but a little time will fix that .

Taylor is thought to be a 2 year old, 13 lb Jack Russell mix . Don’t be fooled by the darling sleepy dog pictures. Truly, it is the only time to catch a clear picture , because is is all about terrier motion. He is neutered, micro chipped, current on his shots and on heartworm prevention. We are referring to him as a heartworm  WATCH . He tested heartworm  positive , but his recheck was negative. Some times you get conflicting tests, so we will keep rechecking him , and treating him as necessary .

Taylor is personable, affectionate, smart and confident. He lives for the “game on” mode and would love to have a buddy to romp with. Toys ! yes PLEASE!  more toys !! PLEASE AND PLEASE .  Hug and cuddle , OH PLEASE !.

Taylor is best suited for an active family with a high fenced in yard .

Just another exciting day at Camp Terri , where Haili never let’s you down , knowing that the dog bed, day bed or couch will not

escape on Haili’s watch . Haili is looking for a home where , she can do pretty much nothing !.  The long evening walks are not her thing . Endless hours of chasing toys, nope .. According to Haili , barking is such a waste of good sleeping time . So if YOU  , are looking for a friendly couch accessory , look no further .

Haili is thought to be a maltese /poodle mix. About 10 years young and about 12 lbs. She is house trained and , loves being next to her human , well, as long as you are sitting , like , on the couch . She is current on her shots, micro chipped , spayed , had an extensive dental and is on heartworm prevention.  So , if low key is your thing , then Haili is your gal . I can’t even imagine how terrified this delicate little girl felt has she wander , most likely for months by her intake condition . Matted , flea infested , hungry and limping until found by animal services . Most likely , she is a 9 year old , under weight at 9 lbs  Maltese mix . She is now  current on her shots,  spayed, micro chipped and on heartworm prevention . Sadly , her dental has left her toothless . But , believe me , that HAS NOT  slowed her food intake down .

It is apparent that her past included a home , with love . But , her story is unknown. She is quite familiar with household comforts, like THE COUCH  , the sound of the refrigerator opening , and air conditioning! Her recall of house training is returning also ! Playing has not been part of the last few days .HOWEVER ,   She excels at couch lounging and pillow hoarding . Haili does have a limp , and apparently it was a past injury , that has no fix . If a lovely , low activity companion pet is you wish , apply !   Stay tuned for her glamour shots !

Update 8/8/19 Look at my adorable smile. I’m Alfie, an 11 year old, 14lbs. happy Poodle. I am very well mannered, funny and have a lot of energy, house broken and super cuddly. My human mom died, I was heartbroken but I’m ready to love again and be a wonderful companion. I love other dogs and play well with others! The frail and terminally  ill senior was moved into the ambulance. Reluctantly she passed her beloved poodle over to her visiting nephew . Her greatest fear was coming to fruition, she is being separated from her only and best friend , little Alfie .  She deliberately mislead , people that called about her health and well being , so she could remain with Alfie .

Officials , immediately condemned the dwelling as it was  uninhabitable . Alfie was brought to a groomer , who gently removed the putrid , matted, feces and urine infused coat . Upon pick up of Alfie, by the nephew , he was advised of VIP Rescue .

Before , bringing Alfie to us , there was one more stop to be made .

Alfie, went to visit his Mom , now in hospice to say “Good By Mommy, I love you ” It was a very painful and emotional god by for Mommy and Alfie . Mommy does know that ,now, he will be very well care for at VIP Rescue .

The nephew returned to the dwelling to perhaps find some necessary paperwork. Authorities, dressed him in hazmat gear to enter .. It was apparent there was a water leak , as black mold climbed the walls .. The toilet had stopped working, so the bath tub the alternate . Overwhelmed by the stench, he left empty handed .

Have you visited an aging relative lately ? Have you checked on that frail neighbor , who was always seen , sweeping the porch ?  When was the last time you stopped scrolling on your electronic device , to just call a friend ? Has brotherly love , become a thing of the past ?

Alfie has said his good byes , but now wants to say HELLO !

He is thought to be a 10 year old cream miniature poodle . He is now current on his shots, neutered, micro chipped ,on heartworm prevention and had a dental with extractions. He is a super friendly gentle boy , that is good on a leash and great with other dogs . He is retooling his thoughts on house training , since that habit recently was left unused . He has some eye clouding and in otherwise great health . He scores an A+ as a companion pet . Are you the one that can give Alfie a new home .

Hi! My name is Delilah and I’m just the sweetest little girl. I’m around a year old and 18 lbs. I’m thought to be a Brussels Griffon-terrier mix.

At first I’m a little shy, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up to new people and give kisses to everyone I meet. I get along with my foster sister and my new foster kitty and I am super interested in the cats. I love to sit at the window and watch my cat friends and everyone outside.

I do jump up on the back of the chair and the computer desk to look out and I love looking out the kitchen doors. I would do better in a house that has a fenced yard since I like to jump. A 6 foot fence would be ideal, but not necessary if you’re willing to hang out with me. I walk well on a leash and like to ride in the car too. I’m still working on my potty training, but I am doing well and am a quick learner once we get in a routine.

I’d probably be best with an older couple who wants a lap dog or a family with an older child who wants a new best friend. I am spayed, current on shots and on heartworm prevention. If you want me to be your new buddy please fill out an application at viprescue.org.
