My name is Demi and thought to be a schnauzer/Havanese mix. I am 3 years old and 13 lbs. I came from a hoarder situation and my background is unknown. My foster dads think I must have been locked up in my cage all day because I am very timid and scared of loud noises and movement. However, once I’ve warmed up to you, I will be the best snuggle buddy you’ve ever had. I love sitting next to my daddy on the couch and I especially love sleeping on him. I get along well with my foster sisters and I really didn’t have any interest in the cat. I take a while to get to feel comfortable with you and I still have to go to my safe spot in order to be picked up, but once I’ve made it there, I am a lover and licker. I think I want my adopter parent(s) to have a lot of time and patience to train me. If you are retired or work from home so I can be by your side all day, that would be best. I don’t want to play with any children or little kids. I also don’t know what walking on a leash is. When my daddy takes me for a walk, I just stand there staring at him. I am being trained on my puppy pads and usually do fairly well, but it’s still a work in progress.
If you are looking for a little girl who wants to please you and be your best friend, please put in to adopt me. Due to my background I will take some time to get adjusted to you and my new home, but I know based on my progress in the two weeks that I have been with my foster dads that I will be happy to work trying to make you happy too.

This delightfully sweet 1 year old 12lb. Schnauzer mix is Delilah. She came into rescue with her siblings and parents from a hoarder situation. She can be quite shy and timid when she first meets you, quick movements startle her, but does warms up quickly once she feels comfortable. Delilah lives with 2 doggie and 2 kitty foster siblings, she can be a little frisky with the kitties, but adores the other dogs and plays very nicely with them. She enjoys being petted , and likes to give tons of kisses. She has made great strides in her foster home and would love a patient and loving family that will continue to work with her building her confidence, and ideally will have another well behaved and socialized dog in the home to continue to help her learn her doggie manners. Delilah LOVES playing ball in the yard, and is quite the athlete when it comes to “running” in the yard. She is doing great with her crate training, is working very hard on her house breaking skills, and is also doing wonderful with leash training! Delilah is perhaps one of the sweetest pups we have fostered, I truly think her goal in life is to love and please her humans unconditionally. She really enjoys human attention and cuddle time either on your lap or next to you while you watch some TV. This little girl had such a rough start in life, and has so much love to give. We do recommend she go to an adult home with a fenced yard so she can continue to her favorite game of chasing the tennis ball! Hey it’s Princess here. My foster mom says I’m the sweetest little girl she ever fostered! I’m approximately 7 years old and I’m currently about 9-10 lbs. I really need to put a little more weight. I’m spayed, UTD on shots, microchipped and I’ve had a dental. I will be the best companion ever as I love to sit in your lap or lay next to you. But I’m also happy to play with toys if you throw them or play tug of war. I like to play with my little foster brother but I would be okay being your one and only. I walk well on a leash and I ride great in the car. I’m housebroken too. I’m a little skittish at first meeting but I warm up quick. I’m a terrier/poodle mix.     Hi,
My name is Jazzy and my foster dads say I’m a little snuggler. I’ve been with them for just over a week and I’m starting to realize I’m going to be ok, even after all the bad stuff that I’ve been through. I wag my tail every time I see them now and am ok coming out of my pen area on my own. I love to sit on the couch and get my tummy rubbed and my ears scratched. I get along with my sister dogs when we’re out around the house, but I’m protective of my space in my pen.
I would probably be ok with other dogs, but know I’d be happy by myself if you want to spoil me. I was curious about the cats, but if they run, I like to chase them. Maybe no cats would be a good thing.
Also, I am so small and think I would probably like to have a family that only has older children or even someone who is retired that just wants to sit with me all day.
I am good at housetraining as long as I get walked on a regular schedule. I walk in the morning and then again at night and am good at the time in between.
I currently sleep in my private pen area ok, but I’m sure your bed would be much more comfortable and I’d love to snuggle with you.

Update on Mz. Diva!!!
She has come a long way since first coming to VIP Rescue. She is still working on her weight (aren’t we all..lol)
She would benefit with a couple of daily walks. This greatly helps with her housebreaking issues and she does well with the exercise.
She’s taking daily meds for her hyperthyroidism and must continue on them for life. She is also being treated for Cushing’s. But she eagerly takes all her meds in tiny pieces of a Pill Pockets.
She’s up to date on all her vaccines, shots and meds.
She gets along with everyone!!! She is just a big Love that adores belly rubs!!!

JANUARY 2017
Update on Ms. Diva.
This past week, she got a nice groom at Fluffy Cuts. And a trip to the Vets. She has bloodwork done, and the vets seem to think, other than a few things in her bloodwork, she’s doing great. She had her dental and is on some antibiotics. The vet seems to think these antibiotics may help with a lot of the elevated things on her tests.
She is still working on the potty training, but she is as sweet as can be!
She loves to follow you around and sleep closely with you.
She’s beginning to get a little more playful and active, now that her ailments are being addressed and she’s feeling better.
She’s smart and a really great dog!!!

She’s just been spayed and had some mammary tumors removed. She still has some follow-ups with the vet so we can continue her road to full recovery 🙂 And she is due for a vet’s appt. this week, as well as a day at Fluffy Cuts/Largo for “the works”! lol

I know hearing that a dog has diabetes and requires shots daily can be very intimidating. I think this is the main reason our little Zack has not been adopted yet.
I felt the same way until one of my little dogs was diagnosed with diabetes. I didn’t think I would be able to give shots!!!?
But I found it’s really quite easy. Please take a few minutes to click and watch this short video on caring for a diabetic dog and giving shots.
Our vets would be more than happy to take some time with Zack’s new owners to show them how to give him his (twice) daily shots to get you comfortable with the procedure.
It is not hard, the meds are not expensive…it’s the commitment you can make to Zack to be there for him twice a day to give him the medicine that will help him live a long, healthy life.
