Lamb Chop arrived to rescue from a puppy mill. She was loaded with bugs and parasites, her coat matted and saturated in urine. Groomed and vetted, she is now on the “moving on up” part of her life. She is spayed , current on her shots, micro chipped, had a dental and a mass removed. She is thought to be 10 years young and a daring 10 lbs. Shari arrived to rescue , from a puppy mill.

Shari is the poster child , for bred to death.

Currently her health is unstable, and we are trying to build her up a bit before we decide to do surgery for a chest full of mammary tumors .

(one the size of at least a golfball!)

Any Donations to help fund her treatments and vet bills would help greatly!

She also is in great need of a dental, because her oral health was non-existent .

This fragile sweet girl is about 10 lbs and about 10 years young.

Despite it all, she just Loves humans! And is a sprite, happy little girl.

She loves to follow her human around the house, and sleep close-by where ever you are.

She bonds very quickly.

She is doing extremely well on housetraining.

She’s a smart and forgiving little pup.

***MAY 24 UPDATE***

Shari, after a few weeks of TLC, became a candidate for cancer surgery!!!!

One of the tumors had shrunk and her heart condition got better with daily meds!

And the vet (Thank You Dr. Camp @ Day and Evening!!!) believes he got it all!!

She also had a dental…and had to have 23 extractions. But this certainly has not stopped her from eating anything and everything…lol

Her heart conditions are being maintained by daily (for life) medications.

This bright little pup learned how to master the doggie stairs in just 2 5-min sessions and a handful of treats!

She is a Very smart little girl!!!

We are still working on her house training.

She has become a spunky, loving little girl that adores being with her human.

MEET GIZMO

Gizmo is approximately 2 yr old poodle weighing 11 pounds, white in color. He is a friendly boy, loves people, kids, and other dogs. He loves attention, gives lots of kisses, and loves to play. He will sit on your lap til the cows come home and dance for his treats! Gizmo was found as a stray and we have not been able to locate an owner. He came in with some puncture wounds and those are healed. We are guessing he had been on the run for awhile and is putting on weight now. Gizmo is well behaved, and loves attention. Gizmo could use some basic training as “come” is not in his vocabulary. He is a young boy with a lot of potential. Gizmo would love to meet a YOUNG family or YOUNG couple that parallels his energy and has a FENCED YARD for him to safely run his legs off! Gizmo needs some more work on his potty training – he is improving but still has accidents. Gizmo is current on his vaccinations, is heartworm negative, microchipped, and has been neutered. GIZMO’s adoption donation is $300. We are unable to adopt to out of state residents. A home visit will be completed before adoption.

Paz is thought to be a maltese poodle mix. He is about 5 years young and 7.5 lbs. He is current on his shots, micro chipped, heartworm negative and had a major dental. Paz arrived to VIP Rescue thanks to Pilots and Paws. He had an old injury of a fractured jaw, that mended in place before it was corrected. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men could not put Paz’s jaw back together again . Part of the bone is dead, so there would not be a viable surface to correct it to. Most of his teeth were rotten and now extracted.

So, with that said, Paz, is eating fine, and is not in pain. He has quite the fun perky personality, and will simply entertain you . He is a joy to be around. He is good with dogs and cats. He is a mater snuggler to !

He is great on airplane and car rides and is easy to groom. Duncan knows how to use a doggy door, but will occasionally have accidents in the house if you aren’t keeping a good eye on him. Peppi was dumped to die at a local shelter. He had to be stripped of the pelt of matted hair and stench, to help him even walk. His fragile body was stiff and weak. He had the deep chest rattle-ling cough.He is blind.

Although he is blind, he stills sees a future of a loving home. If you have never shared your home with a blind dog, you have never learned the lesson of the other senses.

“A dog’s nose not only dominates their face, but their brain, as well. In fact, a dog relies on their sense of smell to interpret their world, in much the same way as people depend on their sight. Although this contrasting world view may be hard to imagine, know that your dog interprets as much information as you do. Peppi has been here with us for a few weeks and what we now know about him , by observation, is,

He was a companion pet that certainly knows his way around the kitchen, hearing the refrigerator door opening, knows the smell of food cooking and he was well house trained by seeking out his human to open the door to out side. He nose guiding him , by the change in air temperature and the different scents of outside.His mobility has improved greatly was , the silly little guy was rolling around on his back , playing !

Jaycee is looking for his new home! His owner was no longer able to accommodate him due to moving. Jaycee is about a year old weighing about 26lbs. He is pure white, possibly albino with his pink nose and light eyes. He draws attention wherever he goes. Jaycee is well behaved, house trained, crate trained, and is a very social boy. He likes other dogs, people, and likes to go for car rides – wherever you go! Jaycee is very smart, has had basic training and knows sit, come, etc. He loves to be carried, and it is apparent he has been carried a lot. He plays well with other dogs and is kid friendly. Jaycee is part Standard Poodle, and we think West Highland Terrier. He is non-shedding, and has to be groomed regularly. Jaycee has been neutered, is heartworm negative, is current on his vaccinations, and he is microchipped. We feed him Fromm Gold Holistic Large Breed Puppy Dry food with can food mixed in. He has a healthy appetite and is accustomed to eating in his crate. As with any puppy, it is not safe to leave socks or other personal articles for him to chew lying around. Jaycee will make a wonderful companion and would fit into about any family that has the time for him. Jaycee needs a fenced yard to run and play, lots of attention, and in return will give you unconditional love. It is not often in rescue we get in such a well behaved well adjusted dog, and Jaycee is exactly that. He is a perfect 10! Jaycee’s adoption donation is $350.

Carole/Clearwater

Just in the nick of time Carole was spared from euthanasia. An old leg injury had her on death row, where her right rear leg was damaged and beyond repair.Carole is otherwise healthy , and has a super sweet personality.

Carole had the dangling leg removed, spayed, micro chipped , current on her shots and heart worm negative. She is already moving around !! Thank to the great vet, Kevin Adney and superior team of Day and Evening Pet Clinic, Carole can move forwad with her life. She is thought to be a terrier mix, 16 lbs and one and a half years old.

Carole is doing great and looking forward to her forever home !

Jack Frost

Jack Frost was weary, wandering the back allies , providing for his pack , garbage here garbage there.He was startled and concerned when he, and his little pack was taken to shelter. Worried, he gave the humans , the benefit of doubt, ate their food, aloud the human touch, and tolerated such a thing as a BATH ! Cleansed of the twigs, dirt grim and bugs, he was a handsome golden eye designer dog, now thinking “Human is good”

Headed north through, a few freedom rides, he landed at a vet. Now in the care of rescue, he had all his shots, his new, ticket home,a micro chip, relieved of his potential of creating a new pack, by being neutered, and celebrating with his new human pack ,with the words of joy HEARTWORM NEGATIVE! The bells of Christmas chimed !

Jack Frost is thought to be just 2 years young, 13.8 lbs , perhaps a Bichon /Maltese mix, with mysterious golden eyes.

His street ways, need to be replace with companion canine practices, but he is smart and willing to love and trust .

Wag my tail ! Wag my tail! wag it all the way !!

I am Jingle and who knew I would really like these humans !Just look at me getting practice with this thing they call snuggle ! Well, up till now, things just were not great for me.. a lowly street walker, traveling in a little pack, eating garbage.Now, I am all about those sugar plums dancing in my head !! This thing called a freedom ride , wasn’t really dashing through the snow but we were moving forward to an exciting new life.

Just want you to know, I am ready to find my very own human. I have been spayed (yea, no babies for me) had a bunch of shots, my own ticket home, called a micro chipped, and every one jumped for joy when they said heartworm negative.. Sure I have some minor worms, but , again, these humans have stuff to fix that up too !

I have been on the street for most of my life, I am now 7 months and a beautiful 8 lbs, of designer oops ! Apply for me so I can come home with you to get my Jingle on !

Meet Eve…..Found on the streets fending for herself weighing in at 10lbs and approximately 2 years old ending up at the shelter in Northern Florida. Vip Rescue of Florida stepped in to save her life along with the other 2 found with her. She is absolutely adorable, look at her eyes….she has chocolate eyeliner around them. Very shy but is making friends quickly with my pack. She loves to snuggle in a warm blanket. Follows you around the entire house wagging her lil tail. She has not barked or whined at all since she has been with me and seems to be housebroken. She is HW+ but is going thru treatment and will be 100% in time. She has been fully vetted,micro chipped, dental and spay.

12/19/2015 update

What a sweet soul she is…still shy, she is afraid of my dogs even Tuffy. She bites at them so in the mean time she is in the spare bedroom with the gate up.She can see everyone…mine are trying to get to know her but she wants no part of it….maybe in time she will come around.
She surprisingly is very people oriented, loves to be held and scratched. Her lil tail wags a million miles an hour when you talk to her. I secured the back yard as she would not potty while being on the leash. Took her out back for some sunshine and she finally pooped. I walked the whole yard- her following, she never left my side. I when it was time to come in she came into the house on her own accord.

Eve has big brown eyes , that will melt your heart.She has had a harsh life, but that is now changing. Eve is thought to be 2 years young and a fragile 10 lbs. She is a terrier mix. Her life on the streets, has left her in need of medical attention, because she is heartworm positive. Treatment is now underway.

Eve is now current on her shots, micro chipped,spayed and has had a dental. Eve is timid, fearful, nervous . In her short time, in the care of true animal lovers, she is beginning the long road of trust.

Ignorance , and neglect have put Sasha in a very challenging position.

One of the most preventable diseases in canine care is heartworm. A simple pill once a month,but Sasha’s previous owners, didn’t care, so she has heartworm. 100% preventable is an unwanted litter, by the simple procedure , SPAY. Sasha was not spayed,so she arrived to rescue with 6 puppies. Believe me when I say,her puppies will never have to breed.

Sasha is a little Schnauzer, full of love and life and she will be in our care until, her pups, are weaned , and adopted and she is free from heartworm .She is about 4 years young 13 lbs and is under vet care now.

Meet Remmy!

Remmy is a one year old Black Standard Poodle who just celebrated his first birthday! He loves to play non-stop, runs in circles like crazy, and if you throw him a ball he will bring it back to you! Remmy is underweight at approximately 48 lbs, and needs a high quality diet. His former owner surrendered him as he did not do well in apartment life or being left 10-12 hours a day. Remmy does well with other active dogs and follows their lead and wants to play non-stop. He loves to go for a ride and cuddle. He is a very affectionate dog. He learns quickly in a structured environment, and needs a strong patient pack leader to make up for his lack of training in his life thus far.

Remmy must have a fenced yard minimum of 6 foot high to exercise and release his energy under your supervision! No doggie doors. No electric fences. He will need someone committed to obedience training and preferably an experienced handler familiar with puppy behaviors and positive reinforcement training. We do not recommend a home with children as he is still in his puppy jumping and nipping stages when he gets very excited and he will bolt out your door if given the opportunity. He is learning……….but he also has a mind of his own! What Standard Poodle doesn’t? He is so very smart!

Remmy is current on all his vaccinations, has been neutered, and is heartworm negative, house trained, and crate trained. At this time, we recommend he be crated in your absence as he is curious and a counter surfer. He just wants to be your shadow, he is an excellent houseguest, a loving companion, and is non-stop entertainment! Remmy is always happy when he is with you! Remmy is vocal and barks at strangers. We are working on his leash manners and he has improved immensely, but still has more work that is needed to desensitize him to stimuli. Remmy loves to cuddle and sleep next to your bed.

This little guy has had a rough start from being undernourished, neglected, and is afraid of grooming from a very bad experience. He needs someone willing to make the commitment to teach him right from wrong, spend quality time with him and not live a life being crated 8-10 hours a day. Grooming can be done by an experienced groomer. It is a matter of building trust and takes time and patience.

Remmy has so much to offer to the right home. He really loves his people and wants nothing more than to please you! He loves other dogs! He has a huge heart! He just needs someone to return all the love he has to give and show him the way!

Remmy is fostered in Leesburg, Florida, zipcode 34788 and will only be adopted to a Florida Resident. A home visit will be completed before you are approved for adoption. TANNER/CLEARWATER

Tanner is a beautiful, soft 2 yr. old Lhasa-Shih boy. He came to us in October after surgery for a fractured elbow. In the weeks of his recuperation, he has shown a distrust for people that has resulted in some biting behavior. This has improved considerably, but he is clearly not a good candidate for a house with children. He requires the patience of an experienced dog owner.

Oh, but he is SO worth it! He is a funny little clown who gets along with all dogs and is reliably housebroken. Once you have earned his trust, you could not ask for a more loyal, silly companion.

He weighs about 20lbs., is up to date on all shots, vaccines and monthly meds (heartworm and flea prevention). He is micro-chipped. He is heartworm negative and he’s neutered.
