This is Pebbles and is thought to be a Yorkie mix although you could have fooled me. Whatever she is, she’s just plain cute. This little darling weighs about 11 pounds and appears to be a voracious eater. At 2 years old she’s very active once she gets over her initial shyness around new people. She even learned the dog doors in her first hour at her new foster home; now that’s smart!

Hi! My name is Calli and my foster dads say I am just the cutest, sweetest little cuddle bug. My life hasn’t been too great until now. I came from a breeder in Alabama, but I’m retired now and ready to relax and be spoiled the rest of my life. Unfortunately my doctor says I have an enlarged heart with a severe heart murmur that will require medicine the rest of my life. He also says he doesn’t know how much time I have… so I’m looking for a hospice adopter who wants to spoil me while they can.

I get along great with my sister pups and cat brother however I am so small
(5..9 lbs) that my family needs no other pet or only small ones. I’m working on house training and have been going on the towels in my pen or on pee pads when I’m let out on the porch.

I love to hang out on the couch next to you or in your lap and I love to sleep in my dad’s soft bed at night.

Due to my size and skittish nature it is not suggested that I am walked outside or let outside on my own. I’d prefer to be an inside only dog with no children and someone who works from home or has lots of time to spoil me.

Maddie is a darling 12 year young Mini Dapple Dachshund who loves to curl up in her bed and take afternoon naps as well as hang out on the couch and cuddle. She has had 2 back surgeries and comes with her own set of steps for easy access to the couch or bed. Maddie needs a home with minimal or no steps. She will allow you to carry her up and down steps, however, if you go without her, she will follow and we don’t want any more back surgeries. She is content sleeping on a blanket on the couch or cuddling in bed under the covers with her human. She loves short walks on the leash and if taken out frequently, will do all her business outside. Maddie is also pee-pad trained. She gets along with other small dogs as well as cats and she loves car rides and meeting new people. She has spent the last year and a half in an assisted living facility with her human and easily made many friends. Unfortunately, her human is now in a full memory ward and can no longer keep her.

Dexter is an 11 year old male Min Pin whose owner had to surrender him due to personal circumstances.  He has limited sight and limited hearing, although he is inquisitive.  He loves to spend time on the couch with his owner, and would be the perfect lap dog for someone retired. He gets along with other dogs; we have no knowledge if he gets along with cats but suspect he would.. He is not housebroken and needs help getting outside.  Living on ground level would be better as he could likely learn dog doors.

Bellair
Pistol is a gorgeous mix of Yorkie and maybe Westie, but a terrier none the less. Sweet boy that get’s along with his foster pack ok but would not mind being your one and only. He is approximately 9 years young and that is the truth. He has a beautiful prance while walking. He’s housebroken, good on a leash, but hasn’t been kid tested yet. He is up to date on all his shots, had a dental and lost quite a few teeth and has been neutered. He is on HW prevention. He was surrendered when his mommy had some health issues and could no longer care for him, so please be patient as he adjusts to his new life, a new world for him. Hi! My name is Brie and I am a super relaxed, easy going little girl. I love to lie with my foster dads to watch TV and I’ve been a good nurse maid taking care of my foster dad this week while he’s been sick. I love to lie under the covers and just chill with him.  I get along well with my foster dog sisters and brother cat. I haven’t shown any issues with either.

I walk well on a leash and I love to be outside walking. I’m house trained and go outside as well as on the papers in the house. If my people had a nice fenced yard where I could hang outside, that would be a bonus.

Hi! My name is Ally (’cause I’m from Bama). I’m thought to be a dachshund mix and was surrendered by my previous owner. I’m currently 15.8 lbs and I need to go on a diet! Not much is known about my past, but my foster dads say I’m a super sweet girl who loves to be with her humans to get scratches and give kisses. I get along with my sister dogs and my brother cat.

I’m learning to walk on a leash with a harness. It takes a little effort to get me to wear it, but I’m OK once I’m outside.

I like just laying around next to my human, but I also like playing and running around outside so a fenced yard would be best so I can do zoomies without having to worry about the leash all the time.

My name is Abby and I came with my family from a hoarder situation. I am very scared and not familiar with anything outside of where I’ve lived my whole life.

                             

Sam is thought to be around 8 years young and all of 14 lbs .He falls into that very special breed , called designer  some  thing . Not sure if he was designed to look like Rod Steward or Phyllis Diller but either way , he sings a sweet tune and will make you laugh !

 He arrived with 3 other from a hoarder and he has proved to know things about a house hold . He tunes right in to the beep of a microwave , the sound of the frig opening and just exactly what energy is needed to jump on a couch .

Surprisingly , he has very good house training manners and  will tuck himself away in an open crate for night time .He can be a real pest when it comes to a female dog in the house .He will basically ignore any of the male dogs in the  house . He is not up to speed on leash walking , but has proven to be a real dog in the squirrel chase and bark category .

Sam is neutered , current on shots , micro chipped , had a dental and is on hearworm prevention . .

He is shy when you meet him takes a little time in warming up but is certainly worth the investment in time you would need to invest in making him a great companion pet !

As Stewie continues to feel comfortable in his surroundings, he continues to be a very affectionate and playful little boy. He loves to be with his person, all the time! He is slow to warm up and is very protective of his foster mom and current space .
He feels so much love for his person, he does not like it at all if another furry friend is anywhere near his person. I guess he never learned to share. For this reason, it has been determined that Stewie will need to be your one and only. He will adorn your lap and shower you with kisses and be your best buddy! He will also alert you with his voice to any new noise or person, so if you believe silence is golden, then Stewie is not your boy! But if you are looking for a one and only and have a calm and quiet, adult home,then Stewie may be your boy!

  This frisky 2 year old, 13 lb Bichon/poodle mix is ready for love! Although he does like to play with other small dogs, he doesn’t like to share his person with them.  He is not cat tested. Hellooo  friends! My name is Spot. I came into VIP Rescue on my freedom ride just before Christmas. Having a grand ole jolly time here in my foster home, but now it is time for me to find my forever home, soooooo friends … let me tell you a little bit about myself.

First off, I am fantastic on a leash!! I absolutely love being outdoors, I don’t pull, and truth be told, I’m a bit overweight so I could use the exercise. Although I would like a fenced in yard, it’s not required, and in fact, due to my size, I would probably be a good fit for a condo or apartment dwelling family as well. I am sturdy, handsome and confident. Friendly and appropriately social with other dogs. The others around me influence my play mood. I am a playful dog at times, but during chill time, I can couch potato with the best of the pack! I haven’t been tested with kids, but all indications are we would be lifelong buddies. Foster mom says I’ll probably meet some in the next few days so watch the comments for an update about that and any other things that might come to mind between now and the time my application for adoption closes.

Hi everyone in rescue land.  I’m Cierra…I made my way from Louisiana to VIPRescue in Florida.  I’m looking for my furever home.  I made it just in time to be out of the shelter for Christmas and the end of 2020.  2021 is looking better and better and I am interviewing for my furever human(s).  I am thought to be a Portuguese Podengo mix.  That is a big name for a happy little girl.  I love cuddles, walks, being on your lap, playing, eating, did I mention I love being close to my human.  I would be good as an only dog in a home or with other human or furry siblings, I am not cat tested, however I do have a prey drive and love to stalk squirrels.  I am about 2 years old, 9.8 lbs, spayed, up-to-date on my shots and micro chipped.

Amelia update!

Meet adorable, sweet, adoptable Amelia!! Amelia is thought to be approximately 3 years old and weighs 28 lbs. She is most likely a terrier mix

When Amelia arrived at VIP Rescue, she was emotionally broken and heart worm positive. Since her arrival, Amelia has spent her time with a couple of different experienced VIP fosters. She has completed her heart worm treatment like a champ and no further restrictions or requirements are needed except regular monthly preventative, so YAY!!!!

Amelia is learning doggy confidence, human trust, touch and affection, exposure to inside/outside life noises and stimuli, and small changes within her known space. She has made amazing progress and her confidence continues to grow! She exhibits a willingness and desire to expand her horizons and has made great strides in learning how to be a dog and a household pet. It is truly a beautiful thing to be part of her story.

Amelia is still very shy, especially with new experiences and people. We believe that once she finds her forever home, she will settle in very nicely if given time, patience, love, and a welcoming, calm, consistent environment. That is clearly what we have experienced in our VIP foster homes and while we are honored she has learned to love and trust us, it is time for us to keep our bigger promise to her and expand her world. She is ready. Are you?

Amelia is excellent with other social/friendly dogs and has been around many during her time with VIP. She likes her personal space, but as long as others respect that, she will quickly initiate doggy intros. We believe that Amelia would greatly benefit from having another confident dog in the home (or close knit extended family type structure). A meet and greet will be required.

Amelia seeks experienced dog owners who are easy going, patient, soft footed/soft spoken, have a quiet lifestyle, and who are willing to continue to grow her amazing soul. She is not suited for a home with small children, nor one that hosts a lot of guests/teens/parties. A fenced-in yard is also required.

Jade is a darling little something doxie mix . This gentle and sweet girl is only 5 years old and  a chubby 21.lb winner .. Winny is a mystery breed . The best guessers  we know, think he is a lab mix. Based on his current weight , we estimate he will be 30 to 40 lbs as an adult. He is thought to be 11 weeks old .

Winny is neutered, micro chipped, dewormed and current on his shots. He is to young to be heartworm tested.

Before you apply , PUPPIES ARE A LOT OF WORK. Winny is very busy and very playful! Puppies require a lot of supervision and time to dedicate to their life time skills . He is well on his way to being housetrained.

Penut is 3 years young she is thought to be a dachshund / papillon mix. She is currently 17 lbs, she is a full figured girl, with walks and some exercise she will trim down (easy on the treats). She is house trained, with a little practice she will be a delight on the leash. She enjoys being with her human, lounging in her dog bed, exploring the fenced yard and snuggles in human bed at night. She is mostly good with other dogs , since she can be very very pushy !

Every one needs a BUDDY ! And Buddy needs you ! There is no telling how long Buddy wandered , stumbling his way around . until someone  brought to the shelter . No one came for Buddy ! He had to wait out his time , hoping his people would claim him. But no one missed this sweet little shihTzu senior .

Buddy’s little nose has to work overtime, as his vision is extremely poor , if not entirely gone. He rests quietly now, safe in a foster home . Of course , he is confused about what is happening but his gentle way , will help him find his way into your heart .

He is current on his shots , micro chipped, neutered  on heartworm and flea prevention and is being treated for an eye infection. He had to be completely stripped down due to the severe matting , but his coat is as beautiful as his soul. He is 15 lbs’

He may be special needs, but let’s be real , aren’t we all in our own way .Buddy is looking forward to hearing your gentle voice and feeling your soft touch .
