Shy update.
Although Shy was appropriately named, a better suited name may now be Blossom, as she is certainly starting to do just that!
Shy came to VIP afraid of everything…including people, noises, and the human touch. She would remain in the safety of her bed and shake, only leaving it to go outside for potty breaks, which she continues to do well with!
After just 1 week, Shy is blossoming. Although still timid when approached, she will gladly hop up and cuddle next to her person for some love, sleep under the covers in bed, and even give an occasional kiss. Shy definitely needs to make the first move!
Shy would be fine with another small dog that could teach her the ropes. At a young 2 years of age, Shy has a lot of play left in her. She is not cat tested. Shy needs a fenced yard as a leash still scares her. Shy would do best in a quiet home without small children, and with someone that is mostly home, with the patience to allow her to continue to blossom at her own pace. What a rewarding experience this will be!
Shy has had her vaccines, is spayed, has had a dental, is microchipped and on flea/heartworm preventative. If you would like to be considered for this sweet, blossoming girl, please submit an application at VIPrescue.org.
Shy is appropriately named. Very timid and scared of everything, including human touch. She is curious however, and will follow us and likes to be around us, but still does not like us to reach out for her. She did hop up on the couch and bed last night briefly and allowed us to pet her for a bit. She also is doing well with going outside to do her business. She is good with other dogs and probably would do well having another dog in the home that can teach her the ropes. I have not tried walking her on a leash yet.
Shy is thought to be a 2 year old 11 lb chi mix. She is current on her shots, micro chipped, had a dental spayed and on heartwom prevention.
