Shy is a hippie “love the one you’re with” kind of gal and has expressed the need to be in a one human home. She prefers not to share her human with another human. She will eventually show her human unlimited love and devotion. Shy would be fine with another small dog that could teach her the ropes and she would be OK in a home with a cat(s).
Shy is sweet and playful. She is a 2-year-old female Rat Terrier-Chihuahua mix who weighs about 10 pounds. Shy needs a fenced yard as a leash still scares her a bit (although she is learning to walk on a leash and working on other basic commands). She is very good at doing her business outside when you take her out regularly. Shy will need to be in a home without small children, and with someone that is mostly home, with the patience to allow her to continue to blossom at her own pace. What a rewarding experience this will be!
Shy will be your shadow but prefers to make the first move. She will join you on the couch and bed inviting you to pet her. Eventually she will make herself at home on your lap.
At night she likes to snuggle up close to you in bed and if you let her, she will get under the covers, and even give you kisses.
