New about Opal ,
Hi there, my name is Opal! When I first came to VIP I was a hot mess. Now I’m just hot! I got a makeover and I feel so soft and happy to be cleaned up. I love to sit in laps, snuggle you and yes, I’m a kisser. I sleep over night in bed with my foster dad and sleep through the night. I appear to be potty trained as long as you take me out every so often. I walk well (and run too) on a leash. Having just 3 legs does not slow me down at all. In fact, if you didn’t see I only had 3 legs you’d never know. I love to play with my foster sisters and chew toys. I think I’d love to have some kids to play with as long as they’re a little older. No cats or ducks since I love to chase them.
Opal is thought to be a 2 year old 10 lb poodle mix.
That is the simple start of her story .. Found as a damaged and matted mess. Her back right leg just hanging there. Most likely , hit by a car and left for dead . BUT , she wasn’t done yet . With the injury not attended to immediately , there was no saving it .
For those who are dedicated to rescue and routinely see and feel the horrors , story’s like Opal’s inspire use to keep going. BECAUSE , we witness their desire to just keep going . They don’t let anything slow them down . THAT IS OPAL !
Opal is truly a gem. She is fun , spirited, playful, energetic, sassy , sweet , smart , joyful , magical and ready to move on even if it is only with 3 legs . She arrears to be housetrained, is good on a leash . She likes other dogs , and is a affection junkie. Opal is current on her shots, micro chipped, spayed, and on heartworm prevention.
