Meet sweet Millie, can you believe that little face? Melts your heart, right? Millie is now a healthy and happy 3 1/2 month old who weighs in at a whopping 3 lbs.!!!! We think her adult weight could be up to 12-18 lbs, but please note, that is not a guarantee of weight.
Millie is a tiny puppy who loves to play with the other pups in her foster home, loves her yummy food, and of course, like any puppy, likes to chew on things. She picks up anything and everything that is in front of her, so she will need age appropriate puppy chew toys and a quick human to take rocks, twigs and anything she wants to taste, other than food, away from her. On leash walks she will pick up leaves, grass, nuts, seed, flowers, everything. We are working on the command “DROP IT” and repeating every few minutes of her awake time. HA! After playtime, she will settle down in a soft puppy bed or lap to relax. Please remember, puppies require ALOT of time, patience and consistency, especially in potty training. As a plus, she has been practicing leash walks with her foster siblings. Also, don’t forget, they can be “curious” so you’ll need to puppy proof your home for her safety. She will need a home with watchful eyes to make sure she doesn’t get into things she is not supposed to. A work from home family, or one who only works away from the home for just a few hours a day will be given preference.
Millie would love a family that will continue to show her all the good things that life has to offer. Since she is so tiny, If there are children in the home, it is recommended that they be 10+ and tiny dog experienced. She is fast and so small she darts and can get under feet quickly and sometimes unnoticed. She will need to be in a home where her people are agile and very alert to keep an eye out for her. She is looking for a home with another dog for her to play with and learn from, a similar sized dog under 15-18 lbs, and please, no big doggies in her new home.
Millie has been spayed, is current on her age appropriate vaccines, microchipped and started on her heartworm prevention and she does not weight enough yet for flea prevention.

Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan.

VIP Rescue reserves the right to approve or disapprove adoption applications submitted based on each dogs’ specific needs. If your adoption application is approved, you will be required to travel to the dogs foster home to meet the dog. A home visit by VIP Rescue at your home is a pre-requisite in the adoption process. Our Volunteers will be in touch with those that meet the criteria for adopting. All information provided in the Adoption application will remain confidential and not be shared outside of designated VIP Rescue Volunteers. Incomplete applications or lack of a response from your veterinarian or references will not be processed. We receive many applications for our rescue dogs and for that we are grateful.
