MEET MAYA! MAYA is a calm sweet 5 year old female cream colored Standard Poodle weighing 47 lbs. She is very devoted and makes a great companion as she follows your every move. She wants to be a part of all your activities and be next to you wherever life takes you. MAYA likes people, kids, and is dog-friendly. MAYA would love to be the center of your universe and will adore you! MAYA enjoys frequent walks and has excellent leash manners. She is housetrained and loves to run, romp, and do roomies in her fenced yard. As with many standard poodles, she is a master counter surfer if you are not at the top of your game with her. MAYA is well mannered, has mastered basic obedience, and is a very happy girl just waiting for that special person(s) to come along to complete her life. She would prefer not to be left at home for 4-6-8 hours at a time. MAYA loves to go places, ride in the car, and hang out with you wherever you go. In her past before rescue, she was crated at night and crated when no one was home. In her foster home, we are not crating her at night and she will happily snuggle with you! She appears to be in excellent heatlh, well socialized, and has a well-rounded personality with no behavioral issues. She is a perfect 10+. She would likely make an excellent Therapy Dog.
MAYA came to rescue retiring from her breeding career. She was owned by a groomer / breeder and is excellent for all grooming endeavors. MAYA is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped. She enjoys her walks several times daily and plays in the yard with her foster siblings. She requires frequent brushing and monthly grooming. Preference will be given to those with Standard Poodle experience. MAYA can offer you her unconditional love, loyalty, and affection. She is a great dog and someone is going to hit the jackpot with this amazingly well-adjusted attentive girl! You must have a 6 foot fence to adopt Maya. We do complete home checks as part of the adoption application process.
MAYA is located in FERNANDINA BEACH, FL. You must travel to FERNANDINA BEACH to meet MAYA and bring any other pets you have for the meeting. If you would like more information on MAYA or to be considered for adoption, you must complete an adoption application. Our volunteer will contact you once your application is complete. We are unable to respond to your emails and messages without you first completing an adoption application.
Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida or GA resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 12-15 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan. All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application.
