Marley is a very fun loving 4 year old Black Standard Poodle weighing 64lbs. He loves people, loves to go places with you, and is a very attentive boy. Marley came to VIP Rescue in a severely neglected state and it has taken us some time to get him back on his feet again. He is now a well behaved goofy boy that wins the hearts of everyone he meets. He is a velcro boy; he will follow you to the ends of the earth and that is all he asks for. He will shower you with love, affection, and attention. Marley is well trained, walks on a loose lead, sits and shakes for his treats, and loves to snuggle. He is very playful, has a high prey drive, and loves to romp and run chasing squirrels or anything that moves. He is also a very good watch dog and he is very smart. Marley is house-trained, crate trained, and comes when called. He really has not needed to be crated as he has no destructive behaviors however he goes to his open door crate to relax. He may whine and bark for a few minutes when you leave him…….but he gets over it quickly. He will get on furniture when invited. He has a lovely tight curly non-shedding coat and is excellent on the groom table. He enjoys his baths and the one on one attention. He will counter surf, so you cannot leave food on your counters or tables. Marley enjoys going to the nursing homes and visiting people there. He is an excellent candidate for a Therapy Dog. He is easily trained and catches on quickly and will do just about anything for a treat!
Marley is up to date on all of his vaccinations, has been neutered, and has been treated for heartworms. Marley is not a candidate for homes with other cats or dogs. Marley needs a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play frequently throughout the day; however, he is not an outside dog. We do not recommend dog parks for Marley because he is simply unpredictable with other dogs. We do not recommend homes with visiting dogs or cats, as Marley is unpredictable. Marley will require frequent brushing and grooming every 4-6 weeks.
