ADOPT JOSIE VIP RESCUE WINTERHAVEN, FL www.viprescue.org Josie is a 2 year old 45lb standard poodle female. She is total sweetness, loving, and is looking for a furever family! Josie is great with people, kids, and cats. She is doing well with the foster dogs in her home also, it took a week or so and now she is best buddies! She loves to play! She is housetrained and crate trained. Josie is current on all her vaccinations, is heartworm negative, micro chipped, and will be spayed this Friday. Josie comes to VIP Rescue as an owner surrender. She has not been abused, however, she has spent a large part of her life crated and passed around to several homes due to no fault of her own. Josie will require a solid enclosed fenced yard to romp and play at her new home; no exceptions. We prefer an owner that is physically able to run and play with her, and a home where she is not left for long periods of time alone and minimal or no crating. Josie needs a home where she is tightly bonded with her person, and a person dedicated to help her reach her full potential. Josie would benefit from obedience training. However, she does have a good start on basic obedience and leash walking.
The Standard Poodle is an extremely intelligent and trainable dog. In fact, it’s one of the smartest dog breeds. They have a pleasant, happy and sensitive personality. Most important, they need to be with people, they need a lot of exercise, and dislike being alone. Josie needs regular grooming every 6-8 weeks which costs approximately $80. She should be fed a high quality grain free diet.
