My name is Hewbert, but I’m also known as Berty, Hewby and Huey! Ha! I’m probably the cutest puppy you will see today. I’m a 14 week (DOB 12-18-23) PUPPY, I’m an all legs Italian Greyhound. LOL My current weight is a itty bitty 4.8 pounds. I was surrendered to the vet with a request for euthanasia because I had a little something wrong with me (totally fixable) ugh, can you imagine?anyway, this was MY lucky day, as the vet contacted VIP Rescue immediately and they came right over and took me in to a home with one of their pawsome fosters. The “medical” issue is all fixed thanks to the pawsome Vet, and I’m all healed up and looking for my “fur”ever family.

I have been with my Foster mom (who is in love with me and my ears) and foster siblings for a few weeks. I love to play with the other dogs in the foster home, my energy is HIGH and some of the seniors pups are not so keen on my happy go lucky play mode. I do enjoy hanging out in a shady yard (with supervision of course because I’m such an itty bitty boy) or a soft doggy bed for my daily naps.

Puppies are so adorable. If you own your home and are ready for a bouncy, high energy, puppy … I may be for you!!!! I’m ready to begin my journey with you. I’m working on pee-pad training and then will graduate to potty training and leash training. Puppies are tons of fun but do require ALOT of work and training on your family’s part to be the best pup I can be! I need love, attention and lots of consistency especially for housebreaking! My little bladder can’t hold it all day so please make sure you can commit to me not being left along longer than 1-2 hours during the day. If that’s not possible, please consider one of our adult dogs which might be better suited for your lifestyle!

I’m neutered, vaccinated (age appropriate) microchipped and current on my heartworm and flea prevention. So, whatya think? ready to commit to giving me the bestest life? If so, please fill out an application at www.viprescue.org. Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 14-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pet’s estimated lifespan.

All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue.
