Hi friends!! My name is Gwen, a 12 lb., 3 years young long hair dachshund/scruffy terrier mix. I came in to rescue from a large hoarding situation and am now looking for my furever home. I’m very playful and have learned I also love attention from my new human friends. It may take me a minute to come say hi, but once I do, it’s game on new friend!

A few of my favorite things? Oh boy do I like toys (and I share nicely with others too)! Cozy dog beds and time chilling with foster mom on the couch can’t be beat!! Sure better than what I had, now I just need my forever family.

Foster mom and I have been working on leash walking and housebreaking. She says I’m making good progress but am going to need a set routine and consistency in my new home to continue my progress. The other dogs in the foster home taught me how to use potty pads so I’m prepared for rainy days, but I wanna go outside so please be willing and have the time to work with me.

I get along great with other small to medium sized social friendly dogs. My new home could already have a dog, I could be an only dog, or if you are looking for two dogs I could also be adopted with my best friend Roxy. (Her info is posted on our website too!) I’ve not been exposed to cats or young kids during my time with my foster Mom, but maybe an older child might be ok, cause, you know, I kinda like everyone I meet! I’ve been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and am current on my heartworm and flea prevention as well. So, how about it? Think I might be the girl for you? If so, please go to to fill out an adoption application. I’ll be waiting to hear from you! Love and tail wags, Gwen

VIP Rescue reserves the right to approve or disapprove adoption applications submitted based on each dogs’ specific needs. If your adoption application is approved, you will be required to travel to the dogs foster home to meet the dog.  A home visit by VIP Rescue might be asked of you in the adoption process.  Our Volunteers will be in touch with those that meet the criteria for adopting. Please to fill out an adoption application and to also see the many other wonderful pets in our Rescue waiting for their “fur”ever home.  All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, so please be kind and patient.  All information provided in the Adoption application will remain confidential and not be shared outside of designated VIP Rescue Volunteers. We do contact your veterinarian, references, and verify other information provided in your application.  Incomplete applications or lack of a response from your veterinarian or references will not be processed.  We receive many applications for our rescue dogs and for that we are grateful.  We select the most fitting applications for the dog, not necessarily the most timely adoption application.

Thank you for thinking rescue!
