Everybody say ahhhhhh….. Why it’s sweet sweet Daisy, an 8.2lb 7 year old cutie pie! Little Miss Daisy has had a challenging life, being crated most of the time with limited socialization and human contact. Sadly, her human became ill, and was no longer able to care for her or her little friend Dixie, and both were surrendered to VIP Rescue.

Unfortunately, we were also told she had never been to the Vet for any care, so of course the very first thing we did was take her to our Vet for a full work up. Thank goodness all is well with her.

Daisy has been doing well in her foster home, but was quite nervous at first, especially with the outside environment, but seems to be settling in. She is learning to trust foster Mom, and has started to show some curiosity with things inside and outside of the home. Leash walking is a bit of a challenge, (remember she lived in a crate and didn’t go outside) the first few days she was scared of the leash and would “pancake” on the ground when leashed, so foster Mom put her in a “sling” and carried her around. Daisy seemed to like that, her little nose was just a twitching with all the sniffies in the air….too cute…After a couple of days of being carried and catered to, she showed some interest in walking with the pack, and is slowly becoming a “pro” at leash walking! She does stop frequently to “smell the roses” and really likes her walks now. You go girl!

She is indifferent with the other pups in the foster home, so she could either be your one and only or with another established pup her size. Please know, that she did come in with her pal Dixie, and although not “bonded” and do not have to go together they are good friends in case you might be considering adopting two pups into your heart and home.

The ideal home for Daisy is a quieter adult only home with someone who is definitely home more often than not, ideally a retiree or an adult that works from home. With a secure fenced yard attached to the home. She is a sweetie, but will need time and patience to continue building her confidence and trust in her humans. Also something to keep in mind is that she will require regular grooming which can run anywhere from $60.00 and up for each session, so please be prepared in your budget for that very important expense.

Daisy has been spayed, had a recent dental, is current on her vaccines and also on her monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Might she be the gal for you? If so, please visit www.viprescue.org and fill out an adoption application!

VIP Rescue reserves the right to approve or disapprove adoption applications submitted based on each dogs specific needs. If your adoption application is approved, you will be required to travel to the dogs foster home to meet the dog.

Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 12-15 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pet’s estimated lifespan.

All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue.

As always, if you have any questions at all, feel free to email us at info@ viprescue.org
