Hello everyone, we’d like you to meet Coco, a 4 year old Pomeranian boy! This gorgeous gentlemen was purchased by an elderly couple and had been used solely for breeding purposes… Yep for breeding…. UGH…. He sired many puppies and now 4 years later his elder human is overwhelmed and has a very “crowded” house. A family member reached out to surrender this adorable guy in the hopes of reducing the number of dogs her elderly mother has. We said yes, because that’s what we do, save dogs!!! We wanted to get him out of the breeder business as quickly as possible and find him a “fur” ever home where he is the center of attention and where he can learn to be a dog, learn to play, and be loved.
Coco is over weight and will need to shed a few pounds which his new family will have to continue doing for him, and he is currently only tinkle pad trained as he lived inside his entire life. Can you imagine? He is such a sweet boy, and LOVES to be outside in his foster homes fenced yard. He can’t get enough of the sights, sounds and sniffies of the outside world. He is a big no to leash walking at this time, but we’ll work on that with him, as well as help him to just be a dog and be the happy go lucky dog he deserves to be. He’d love to get all your attention and in return he will give you his huge smile and all of his love back. He enjoys cuddling and napping on the human lap. Currently he is very nervous when taken in the car as the only time he has ever been in the car was for infrequent grooming and when he was rescued. We don’t think he would be good as a travel buddy… He would do best as a stay at home buddy.
He is good with the other pups in the foster home, so he could either be your one and only or with another established pup his size (or smaller)
The ideal home for Coco is a quieter adult only home with someone who is definitely home more often than not, ideally a retiree or an adult that works from home with a secure fenced yard attached to the home. Since coming into his foster home he can’t get enough of the outside. He has not experienced a yard and he is just loving it. He is a sweetie, but will need time and patience to continue building his confidence and trust in his humans. Also something to keep in mind is that he will require regular grooming which can run anywhere from $60.00 and up for each session, so please be prepared in your budget for that very important expense.
Coco has been neutered, had a recent dental, has been brought current on his vaccines and also on his monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Might this smiley guy be the boy for you? If so, please visit www.viprescue.org and fill out an adoption application!
VIP Rescue reserves the right to approve or disapprove adoption applications submitted based on each dogs specific needs. If your adoption application is approved, you will be required to travel to the dogs foster home to meet the dog.
Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 12-15 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pet’s estimated lifespan.
All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue.
As always, if you have any questions at all, feel free to email us at info@ viprescue.org
Applications are found on our website VIPRescue.org
