Wow!!! Meet Sasha, an incredibly sweet large breed puppy. Yes, this little dog rescue has a large breed puppy! (don’t ask…lol…) She is going to be HUGE!! We are thinking 80-120 lbs but this is not a guarantee of weight, she could be more or less!  She is an active puppy who loves to play with the other pups in her foster home and of course, like any puppy, likes to chew on things. Do you like happy playful dogs? Are you looking for a constant companion? If so, Sasha might just be your girl!!!

Sasha is a 3 month old Bernese Mountain Dog with boundless energy and a desire to please her human. As you can see, she’s a beautiful tri-color pup, and even more stunning in person. While today she tips the scales at 18 pounds, she’s going to be a BIG girl when she grows up… and…..be ready for the food bills because she LOVES to eat!  Just coming in to VIP Rescue she has already shown that she’s really smart. It took mere minutes to master playing with the doggies at her foster home. Once she settles in a bit, we’ll start to work on potty training. She picks up anything and everything that is in front of her, so she will need age appropriate puppy chew toys and a quick human to take rocks, twigs and anything out of her mouth that she finds outside! After playtime, she will settle down in a soft puppy bed or the nearest lap to relax. Please remember, puppies require ALOT of time, patience and consistency, especially in potty training. She has started leash walks, this is a work in progress. Also, don’t forget, they can be “curious” so you’ll need to puppy proof your home as well for her safety. She will need a home with watchful eyes to make sure she doesn’t get into things she is not supposed to. A work from home family, or one who only works away from the home for just a few hours a day will be given preference.  She will need someone who can commit to walks and mental enrichment including training and toys.  Give her attention and you will be rewarded with a puppy full love and affection.  She requires a single family home with a secure fenced yard, being a Large Breed she needs a large fenced yard area to live and play, she will not be a match for a condo or apartment.    One of the most unique features of Bernese Mountain Dogs is their lush, double-layered coat. This thick fur adds to their striking appearance, and the outer layer of their fur is either straight or slightly wavy and lengthy, while the underlayer is dense and soft. Their beautiful black, white, and rust tricolor pattern further enhances their majestic look. Regular grooming is important to maintain the beauty of their coat, requiring brushing several times a week and occasional baths to prevent matting and tangling.

Sasha will be spayed soon, is already microchipped, and current on her age appropriate vaccinations as well as her heartworm and flea prevention.  VIP Rescue reserves the right to approve or disapprove adoption applications submitted based on each dogs specific needs. If your adoption application is approved, you will be required to travel to the dogs foster home to meet the dog.

Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 7-10 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pet’s estimated lifespan.

All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue.   As always, if you have any questions at all, feel free to email us at info@ viprescue.org
