ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Charlie and Sugar are a bonded pair. You must adopt both dogs together. All adopters must be a resident of FL. Charlie and Sugar require a fenced yard where they can run and play. You must own your home. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, they must be current on vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care.
ABOUT CHARLIE and SUGAR: 2023 has been a rough year for Charlie and Sugar. Their owner passed away, and they found themselves at the County Shelter begging for a rescue. VIP Rescue answered their call, and the rest is history! First stop, a much-needed groom for both of these lost souls…….it had been a long time since they had been groomed. Big thanks to our volunteer groomer! Next stop to the veterinarian; a dental for both, and Charlie opted to have a growth removed, it turned out to be a benign lipoma, typical of the breed at his age. Next stop was onto their foster home that was waiting for them with open arms! This is what their foster home says about Charlie and Sugar:
“The definition of joy and love comes in a package of Charlie and Sugar. They are a bonded pair that delight anyone that has the opportunity to share time with them. Sugar is the boss and Charlie willingly follows her lead. Sugar loves to have Charlie chase her around the house and yard. They enjoy walks around the neighborhood. In the evening they both relish in giving and receiving attention from the humans in the home. Sugar will prance and wiggle around to get your attention while Charlie will just walk up to you and sit beside you in hopes that your hand will find itself petting him. They sleep curled up together at night. If you are in the market to share your love, time and energy please put your application is for these two wonder dogs.”
Both Charlie and Sugar are house trained, good on a leash, like toys, and enjoy other dogs. Both are up to date on vaccines, had dentals, microchipped, heartworm negative, and in good health for their age. They want to be an active participant in your daily life. High quality food is essential and not cheap. Both dogs require monthly grooming, and frequent brushing. Grooming ranges from $75 – $150 each. They so love being around people and are looking for a great place to land that enjoys seniors, and their simplicity of life.
MEET Charlie and Sugar: They are fostered together in Redington Beach, FL. and will be adopted together to a home within a reasonable distance. You will need to travel to Redington Beach to meet them if your application is approved. You will need to bring all your family members and pets for the introduction meeting.
VIP RESCUE ADOPTION APPLICATIONS: VIP Rescue reserves the right to approve or disapprove adoption applications submitted based on each dogs’ specific needs. If your adoption application is approved, you will be required to travel to the dogs foster home to meet the dog. A home visit by VIP Rescue at your home is a pre-requisite in the adoption process. Our Volunteers will be in touch with those that meet the criteria for adopting Charlie and Sugar.

Incomplete applications or lack of a response from your veterinarian or references will not be processed. We receive many applications for our rescue dogs and for that we are grateful.
