MEET MIKEY!
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA
Mikey is a handsome bouncy lean active white 6 yr old Standard Poodle who is available for adoption from his owner in Brevard County, FL. Due to circumstances beyond the owners control, Mikey is being rehomed. Mikey weighs 43lbs. He loves long walks, loves to play ball, he even rolls it back to you with his nose! Mikey gives kisses, is obedience trained, walks great on a lead, and he loves to go go go. Mikey is a Velcro dog, and just wants to be wherever you are or wherever you go. He learns quickly, aims to please, has earned his Canine Good Citizen certification, and has been trained in Rally!
Mikey will only be adopted to an active home with no other dogs, as he is dog selective in sharing his home with other animals. He prefers not to be left at home alone, so he is looking to find someone who works from home, part-time, a retired situation, or where he can go to work with you? We do not recommend a home with children. Mikey has a ton of energy, and he never runs out. To keep up with this active boy and give him the exercise that he needs, you will need a minimum of a 5 foot fenced yard with lots of room and time to play ball with him. Mikey is a very loving, totally devoted, and attentive boy.
Mikey has great manners, he does not counter surf, he is house trained, crate trained, and aims to please. When meeting new people, Mikey likes to do it on his terms……a slow “let him come to you” approach. Mikey learns quickly with very gentle positive training and handling – he is fearful of people who are overzealous and engage in rough play upon approach. In a matter of an hour, Mikey can be your best friend if you play ball with him and he will be begging for your affection. Mikey would do great in a home that is familiar with rally, agility, and other mentally and physically stimulating activities.
Mikey is not a service dog candidate or therapy dog candidate due to his dog to dog volatility and approach volatility.
Mikey is neutered, current on his vaccinations, current on his preventatives, heartworm negative, microchipped and has a Florida Health Certificate. Mikey’s adoption fee is $250. Mikey requires frequent grooming and this should be a consideration when adopting Mikey. Mikey is in excellent health.
