They are current on age-appropriate shots, neutered, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. Their mom, Stella, is 16 lbs but dad is unknown so adult weight could range from 25-50 lbs.

We’d like you to meet sweet little Stella. She’s thought to be a Chi/RatTerrier and maybe a hint of Pomeranian mix, but what we do know is this little 3 year old 15lb gal has a lot of love to give. Stella came to VIP Rescue with her 5 little boys (currently interviewing for their own homes!)She had a real tough start in life coming from a cruelty case and barely no socialization skills at all. In fact, it took quite a while for her to even let her foster Mom near her or her babies. With ALOT of patience and love, after just a few days she allowed foster Mom to handle the babies! Yeah! Next, was to gain the trust of foster Mom, and again, with ALOT of love, foster Mom started hand feeding her and it didn’t take long for Stella to realize that not all humans are bad, and this gig might be a good one! In no time at all, Stella starting acting like a real dog should, enjoying pets, belly rubs, toys, and totally accepting of love from her “Mom”. She was introduced to the other foster siblings and gets along great with them. She totally enjoys her early morning leash walks and is really enjoying her new life. Due to her past, Stella feels the need to “protect” her human and prefers to be in a single adult only female home. Another dog would be ok, but no children or cats in the home. ( sorry, no exceptions) Stella would really do best with someone who is retired or works from home, and has the time and experience to spend with her, to make her feel safe, comfortable and loved in her new home. Hi! My name is Bri and I’m just the sweetest little girl. I’m a little on the skittish side, but once I check you out I’m good with you and you’ll have a friend by your side all the time. I’m 2 years old and 18 pounds. I get along great with foster pups, but not my kitty family so I need a home with no cats. I’d be ok with having an older human sibling, but because of my skittishness I think loud little kids would scare me. I’m good on leash, although at times I get scared. Princess, came to VIP as an owner surrender, when her mom developed a health issue, rendering her unable to provide Princess with the regal lifestyle she deserves. Princess is a 12 year young Maltese who loves to follow her foster parents around the house, snuggle at every available opportunity and captures hearts of all in her presence. She loves walks around the neighborhood and dances with joy when the leash comes out.

Hey there, my name is Polo, and I’m the cutest 8lb, 3 year old chihuahua boy you are going to ever meet! I’m a BE’u’tiful chocolate color, with a brown nose and brown eyes and maybe a little white on me too. I am currently interviewing for a new home and family. Hi friends! We would like to introduce you to this adorable pair of female chihuahuas, Hazel and Bertha. 

Hazel and Bertha are what we call “bonded.” What that means is they are the bestest of friends, and having been together their whole lives, they are seeking a forever home together. We will not separate these girls. 

Hazel is 7 years young and weighs 6.8lbs. Bertha is 9 years young and weighs 7.4lbs. They are both very gentle natured and friendly. Hazel is the more outwardly affectionate of the two, while Bertha tends to be a bit more shy and reserved.

Their favorite thing to do is cuddle with each other on a comfie couch or dog bed. It is rare to see them willingly out of sight of one another. They seem to be crate trained, although they aren’t destructive, mischievous or big explorers so foster mom just has them set up in their own little playroom. 

Hazel and Bertha enjoy walks together. They are good on a leash, and walk very well and easily together. Keep in mind they are petite dogs though and we doubt they previously had a super active lifestyle. We keep our walks short and leisurely strolls versus counting steps. They are a combo of housebroken and potty pad trained. 

Upon arrival at VIP Rescue, both girls were severely flea infested, which resulted in some skin irritation and mild hair loss. We expect with the fleas now eradicated to see quick improvement with their skin itchiness and inflammation. The missing hair should grow back in the next couple of months too. 

Hazel and Bertha are fine with other friendly small-medium dogs being around but they do not really engage the other dogs in their foster home. They have not been tested with cats or kids, although their foster mom thinks they would do fine with proper introduction and supervision. 

Hazel and Bertha have been spayed, microchipped, are up to date on their vaccinations, started on flea and heartworm prevention, and have had fresh dentals.

Hello there my new friends, my name is Darlynn. I’m a quiet, sweet little 5 year old 11 lb. girl. I didn’t have the best life before coming here, but I heard from some people that I won the doggie jackpot because I was going to VIP Rescue! When I arrived at VIP Rescue, I was so flea infested, and I could barely see through my overgrown hair and my belly was hungry. My foster Mommy gave me a nice warm bubble bath and got rid of all those nasty fleas, gave me a nice haircut, and the best was the yummy food she made me. I almost feel like a new doggie! The next day Mommy brought me to the “dogtor” to get spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and I even had a dental! Oh, and they started me on my heartworm and flea prevention too. They said that was VERY important. They were so nice to me there! Now, I’m ready to meet and find my new family. This cute 2 year old Jack Russell mix is Miley. She is quite the mover and the shaker, typical traits for the Jack Russel breed. Have you seen those agility courses? Yeah, we bet she’d LOVE to do that as she loves to get on top of things to see as far as she can see. Ha!! With that being said, this silly SUPER active girl will require a home with a 6 ft fenced in yard. In my previous place they didn’t have enough time for me and It seems I was most likely left in my crate for way too long which I think caused a bit of anxiety as I was literally just tearing my fur out. I had boo boo’s on my skin from that too, amongst other stuff. I went to a place called a “foster” home, and yippee, I got the BESTEST foster Mommy ever! She gave me a couple of awesome warm “bubble baths” to help my irritated, itchy skin. Next day Mommy took me to the “Dogtor” to get a check up, and even though I got lottsa stuff done to me, (shots for my itchy skin too?) I really felt better, they were really gentle and kind with me. The “dogtor” gave Mommy medicines for me to take for my skin, and in no time at all, my beautiful coat will grow back. I love to play with my foster siblings, but even with that, foster Mommy thinks it’s best if I was your one and only, cuz of my past. I need to be with my human and hog all that attention! I love to snuggle up with foster Mommy, and would prefer someone home more often than not. Mommy takes us for morning walks and says I’m real good on a leash, and I’m working on potty trained as long as I get enough potty breaks throughout the day, I’m really good. Not much napping for me, I’m very active and need as much time as I can get for playing. I’ve been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and started on heartworm and flea prevention too. Hey there you beautiful people, my name is Kabo and I came to this great place called VIP Rescue to find my new family! First, a little about me. I’m a super 6 year old 15 lb ish chocolate Shih Tzu guy. I’ve got a really short haircut because of horrible matting at intake. But, good news is, I’m ok with it for now, and in a couple of months or so my fur should be in completely. Wait til you see how very handsome I am! When my fur does grow back in, I’ll need to be brushed regularly along with going to the groomer as well. I’m a playful and affectionate guy who LOVES other puppers, and I also really like those “hoomans” ( they give me toys, belly rubs and yummy food!) Hi friends! My name is Saila and I am available for adoption!! Weighing in at 15 pounds, I am a youthful 12 year old female shih tzu looking for my “furever” home.

Please excuse my super duper short haircut. I was really matted so my rescue friends had to get all that old hair off and give me a fresh start. But you know what they say? The difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut is about 5 weeks. I’ll be glad when my hair grows back, but at least it’s not winter, so until then, just imagine me fluffy and furry. It’ll grow back, and I will require regular grooming (aka “spa”) appointments, as well as in between brushing.

I’m friendly and affectionate, and very social with other dogs. I can be a bit shy so please don’t expect too much too quick, but don’t be surprised if I find you extraordinary and we click from minute one, the way some friends do.

Hi I’m SallyAnne, I’m a 7 pound 4 yo Chiweenie. I’m a bit skittish, but once I trust you, you can expect lots of kisses and snuggles. Yummy treats are the way to my heart! 

I love to ride in the stroller and be carried in a sling, but I don’t really like walking on a leash yet. I tolerate my doggy foster sisters but I prefer to do my own thing, so I don’t really play with them much.  But I do like to steal their toys and hide them in my bed! I love squeaky toys and chew toys! And as a bonus I’m crate trained.

I recently had a rough patch of life- I was found as a stray and had lots of skin problems. But my hair is almost completely grown back and I’m feeling a lot better!

This handsome guy is Pedro. He is very affectionate, has big fun energy and a big personality to match. Pedro is 3 years old and weighs 18lbs. 

Pedro is very playful, confident and enjoys the company of other dogs. He does best with other dogs that match his high play energy. Pedro would probably prefer a home with another dog. A meet and greet will be required if you have a dog. No cats for Pedro. Kids 8+.

Pedro walks well on a leash and enjoys his time outside. Fit little guy, he would make an excellent walking companion. He can be a little reactive to things like bicycles, skateboards, delivery trucks, joggers, etc., but he responds well to firm correction and redirection. Treat motivated, smart and highly trainable.

Hello there friends! My name is Huey, I’m a 14 year old senior boy with quite a ” pep in my step”! I’m hanging out in an awesome foster home with senior puppers like myself. Hey there, my name is Nola! I’m a 7 month old 20 lb hound mix kinda girl who is a bundle of love and puppy energy! I’m in this cool place called a “foster home” where they just wubs me and take great care of me too! I’m starting to learn how to walk nicely on a leash, but, (there’s always a “but”, right?) I am a brisk walker and like to go on long walks to burn some of my energy. As I said, I’m really full of puppy energy, so I definitely need a secure fenced in backyard to do my “zoomies” in, and also for us to play in! I love to play catch and fetch with the “humans” in the yard and ear rubs, oh my, I melt for those. Sweet sweet little Sylvia. She’s an approximately 8 year old 8 lb little lady who had a really tough life before coming to VIP Rescue. But…..that’s all changed now. She gets a lot of attention, yummy food in her belly and tons of cuddles. Gosh, who wouldn’t want to cuddle her, right? “Sylvie” gets along great with her foster siblings and is truly loving life, probably for the first time. My name is Trixie and I’m a happy go lucky little girl! I’m high energy and would love to have brothers or sisters to run and play with, either human or doggy.

I’d like to introduce myself, I’m Mazey! ( my friends at VIP Rescue call me “Lazy” Mazey!) Those funny rescue people, Ha!  Anywho,  I’m a super 7 lb. 9 year young Chihuahua mix gal. I found myself needing a new family, and a VIP Rescue foster fell in love with me and took me right in. ( of course they fell in love with me, who wouldn’t, right?) Hi everyone.  Trey here.  I’m a 9 year old Chihuahua mix who weights about 10lbs and is very easy going.  I just had a dental and only have a few teeth left, so I must eat soft canned food, for the rest of my life which is just fine with me!  I’m current on all my annual vaccinations and monthly medications for fleas & ticks and heartworm.  I’m also microchipped.  As they say, I’m ready for my furever home!

I just love my foster parents.  I love to follow them everywhere and show my happiness by constantly wagging my tail. I love to lay on the couch with my blanket or jump up onto a soft chair.  I love all the other dogs in my foster home too!  

I’m still working on my housetraining since coming to my new foster home.  My foster parents take me out several times a day as we work on establishing a routine. I like to go for leash walks and generally find a place with just the right odor to get me going.

It’s a great day here in Florida, wanna know why? Because I’m Harley, and I’m currently interviewing for my new “fur”ever family! He is working on pee-pad training and then will graduate to potty training and leash training. I’m even tempered, happy guy. I love to play with the fosters pups in my home, take naps and cuddle. I am not fond of cats..it wold be best to not have them in my home. I’m good with most other similar or a little bigger pups, and I would be ok with respectful kids over the age of 8… they like to play. Jackie is thought to be a breed known as a Feist, We had not heard of this breed before, this lead to some research, and she is a combination of a Ret Terrier and Jack Russell.

She is beautiful, even tempered, fun lov’in, 27 lbs of happy girl. She is house trained and a delight on a leash. She loves to sit outside and watch the squirrels and birds in the trees or hangout with her human and snuggle. She also loves to play with her toys or go for long walks, she also has a foster pups in the home and she will wrestle and play in the yard with them. Sounds like an all around flexible kind of gal.

This adorable little man is Finn. He is a 1 year old 18 lb “beagley” mix pupper. Finn can be a little shy and submissive at first meet, but warms up nicely once he is comfortable. He gets along well with other dogs and really enjoys the company of “his” people, almost like a little “lamb” as in Mary had a little lamb! Finn walks well on a leash and is doing great with his potty training. He, like some of our other doggies in our foster homes, enjoys exploring outside and relaxing in this amazing weather we have here in Florida.

Finn is neutered, up to date on his vaccines and microchipped. Finn is another Heartworm positive dog that recently came in to our Rescue. but PLEASE… don’t let that change your mind about him. VIP Rescue will take care of ALL the costs of his treatment, you just have to live close enough to take him to his time sensitive treatment appointments at our Vet in S. Pinellas County. One thing you must do until Finn has completed his treatment in a few months is to keep him fairly calm and quiet. By that we mean very short leash walks only and no running in the yard. But, after he’s completed treatment and tested negative, he can go back to doing all the things dogs love to do! ( but not before!)
