Knubbs/Holiday

Hello everyone! I’m Knubbs, a super 3 year old 17 lb. Chihuahua/Daschund mix boy. Since coming to VIP Rescue I have taught the “hooman” fosters all the things I like and am good at! Ha! Wanna hear all about me? Great! First and foremost, I’m a super happy kinda fella. I have a great disposition and truly love these 2 legged hoomans, especially the cuddles they give, oh boy, my fave! I love to run around and play, maybe you have a friend for me to play with? Of course we’d have to meet first to make sure we like each other!  I’d love to have a fenced in yard in my new home, ya know, so we can play ball, (I LOVE that game) or to run around  or just hang. I also enjoy taking short walks, and I’m real good on my leash. I’ve been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, on heartworm and flea prevention, and the best? I’m already potty trained so I’m ready to go! Please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application for me, I can’t wait to meet you! 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️

If you’d like to meet me you, please submit an application online at VIPRescue.org, and the nice people there will take it from there.  Hope to meet you soon!

SallyAnne/ St Petersburg

Hi I’m SallyAnne, I’m a 7 pound 4 yo Chiweenie. I’m a bit skittish, but once I trust you, you can expect lots of kisses and snuggles. Yummy treats are the way to my heart!

I love to ride in the stroller and be carried in a sling, but I don’t really like walking on a leash yet. I tolerate my doggy foster sisters but I prefer to do my own thing, so I don’t really play with them much.  But I do like to steal their toys and hide them in my bed! I love squeaky toys and chew toys! And as a bonus I’m crate trained.

I recently had a rough patch of life- I was found as a stray and had lots of skin problems. But my hair is almost completely grown back and I’m feeling a lot better!

My perfect match would be a patient family who can help me come out of my shell, and who will work with me on potty training, a fenced yard would be a plus.  I’d be a great one and only, or a good match for doggy siblings who are calm and relaxed.

I am spayed, micro chipped, up to date with vaccines and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.  You must submit an application to be considered for adoption.  VIPRescue.org

Faith/St Petersburg

Hi there VIP Rescue friends! My name is Faith, and wait til you hear how perfect I am, you’ll just wanna run right to your “puter “ and fill out that “doption” application! I’m an AMAZING 7 month old sweetheart, ( my foster Mommy says that all the time, I think she “wubs” me a whole lot!). I’m 13 lbs, and may get a little bigger.  I’m a gentle girl who loves to be petted, but sometimes I can be a little shy, but once I feel comfortable, it’s all good! Loud noises sometimes startle me, so please be patient with me. Cuddles, wow, they are the BEST! I really love to cuddle on the couch with my humans and watch some T.V. I get along with most other doggies, but sometimes I do bark at them. You can help me with that, ok? I like the “big and little” humans, they’re kinda cool. Ready for the bestest news? I’m crate AND potty trained! I also do good on my leash too! Told ya I was a great girl! I’m already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention (very very important for me and all doggies to be on that). So, whatya think? Are you RUNNING to your “puter” yet? Please visit www.viprescue.org and fill out that adoption application! See ya soon! Licks and Wags, Faith 🐾❤️

Teddy and Timmy /Redington Beach

**We do not ship our pets. In state adoptions only**

Did someone say they wanted a puppy? Lookie here! We’d like you to meet Timmy and Teddy (black muzzle). These little sweeties were born on 1/11/2022. We’ve been told Mommy was a shih tzu, and Daddy was a chihuahua. Our best guess if that’s correct is that they should be around 15lbs. full grown but again, that’s only a guess at this point! Now that you have found that perfect little darling, we want to make sure you’re ready for that bouncy, high energy shoe eating little pupper! Puppies are tons of fun but do require ALOT of work and training on your family’s part so that they will be the best pup they can be. They need love, attention and lots of consistency especially for housebreaking! Their little bladders can’t hold it all day while you’re at work, so you’ll definitely need someone home more often than not. (Pups this young need to be fed 3x a day until they get older)  If that’s not possible, please consider one of our adult dogs which might be better suited for your lifestyle! Both boys have been neutered, have age appropriate vaccines, are microchipped and started on heartworm and flea prevention. Although they’re too young to be tested for heartworm, we always start our pups on prevention at this age. It’s so important! If you feel you’ve got the time and commitment for these pups, please visit www.viprescue.org and fill out an adoption application. Please understand, we do expect a lot of interest for them, therefore, incomplete applications will not be considered. As always, if you have any questions at all, feel free to email us at info@ viprescue.org

Marleigh/Seminole

Available for adoption!!!VIPRescue.org

Wow, Will you take a look at this beauty? We’d like you to meet Marleigh, an amazing 9 month old girl. Her breed you ask? hmmmm… let’s see now. She’s got the looks of a Lab, the personality of a Hound, and the bark of a Beagle! There you have it! So, let’s just say…..She’s got it all! She’s currently about 30 lbs. and still has a bit of growing left to do . Marleigh is a high energy pup, with tons of “spunk”. She’s a confident girl while engaging with people and other dogs, who, by the way she adores. She’s smart, obedient, and a good spirited girl. You could say personality plus! Marleigh needs and wants a very active family, as she’s currently all about the play play play mode! Ha! She wouldn’t be suited for apartment or condo living, she’d be best in a single family home with a secure fenced in backyard for playtime. If you’re that active family with kids ( she does well with kids, we suggest 8+ due to activity level) she just might be the girl for you! She’s completely vetted to include spay, vaccinations, microchip and on heartworm and flea prevention. Her bags are packed and she’s ready to go home! Please fill out an adoption application at www.viprescue.org Marleigh can’t wait to meet her new family!click on link to be directed to application submission.https://viprescue.org/jobs/apply/?j=772

Olivia/Redington Beach

Hello friends, my name is Olivia. I just got to Florida a few days ago, and boy, am I glad I’m here! I’m a really great 5 year old 11 lb Yorkie mix gal. My foster Mom said I was  a hot mess when I got here, all matted, and with ear infections, ugh! I’m feeling a heck of a lot better since “Mom” bathed me and got rid of those nasty mats, and the nice “Dog”ter gave me medicine to clear up my ear infections. I get along with the other furkids in the house and am learning to go on this “leash walk” thing. Hmmmm….it’s a work in progress, but I’m getting there! I’m almost totally houstrained, Mom said I’m 95% there!  I really like to be close to my foster Mom and fur siblings. I don’t think I’ve had that in my life before I came here. I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and had a dental too! I’ve also been started on my heartworm and flea prevention. I’d really like a family of my own soon, could that be you? Please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application!🐾❤️

Paco/Redington Beach

Hellllllooooo! How are ya’ll! My name is Paco, a 5 year old 11lb little chihuahua mix boy. I’m thinking I’m just the cutest pup you’ve seen in a long time, right? Yup…I love my foster home and have a foster brother and sister to play with. I should mention I love food (yum), my bed, my foster siblings, my walks with my foster family, well heck, I’m just loving life! The only thing I’m missing is a family of my own, could that be you maybe? I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention.  I’m what one would say “ready to roll”! Please submit an adoption application at www.viprescue.org. My bags are packed, I’m R.E.A.D.Y.!!!!!!🐾

Pedro/Indian Rocks Beach

This handsome guy is Pedro. He is very affectionate, has big fun energy and a big personality to match. Pedro is 3 years old and weighs 18lbs.

Pedro is very playful, confident and enjoys the company of other dogs. He does best with other dogs that match his high play energy. Pedro would probably prefer a home with another dog. A meet and greet will be required if you have a dog. No cats for Pedro. Kids 8+.

Pedro walks well on a leash and enjoys his time outside. Fit little guy, he would make an excellent walking companion. He can be a little reactive to things like bicycles, skateboards, delivery trucks, joggers, etc., but he responds well to firm correction and redirection. Treat motivated, smart and highly trainable.

When Pedro arrived at VIP Rescue, he had double cherry eye. That has been surgically repaired and recovery is complete. Pedro has also been neutered, microchipped, is up to date on his vaccinations and on flea and heartworm prevention.

Does Pedro sound like he would be a good fit for you? If so, please apply today at VIPRescue.org

Huey/Largo

Hello there friends! My name is Huey, I’m a 14 year old senior boy with quite a ” pep in my step”! I’m hanging out in an awesome foster home with senior puppers like myself. We get to take very leisurely morning walks and get to sniff all the neat things we come across. I do get along with other quieter pups like myself, or I’d be just as happy being your one and only. I do have a few “senior” ailments, but hey, don’t we all? I have the start of some cataracts, a touch of arthritis, and I’m missing a few “toofers”  but I feel SO much better after seeing the “Dog”ter. I’ve been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and just had a dental, and oh boy, do I feel better!  I’ve also been started on heartworm and flea prevention. So, whatya think? Got a nice comfy couch for me to curl up on with you? I’d really like that. Please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. I sure hope to hear from you soon! Love and tail wags, your friend, Huey xoxoxo

Tyson/St Petersburg

I am Tyson the Brave, protector of my castle and my people. I enjoy going on adventures and long walks around the neighborhood. I am happy to meet new people, young and old. My favorite place in the world is home, playing with my stuffies, getting some sun in the yard, or on the lap of my human. I love to sleep close to my humans. Really close.😍

I am a happy, handsome, and playful 8 year old, 9 lb Italian Greyhound/Chi/Terrier mix. I am a terrific guard dog, always vigilant and on the ready. I will warn you of any dangers with my super loud bark – dragons, delivery people, or dogs.  But when the coast is clear, I am a quiet, lovable dog.

Although I am pretty brave, being alone and loud noises really scare me. I need extra cuddles during thunderstorms. I’m looking for a quiet forever home with people who are home a lot, and who will have patience with me as I adjust, as I have had a lot of changes in the last few years. My last human fell on hard times and I was surrendered to this wonderful rescue.  I would prefer to be an only dog, but could be open to another dog, a submissive pup as I like to have all the attention, a meet and greet will be required.

I am a happy, easy dog that appreciates lots of couch cuddles. I have lots of love to give to just the right family. I am up to date with vaccines, neutered, microchipped and I’ve had a fresh dental. I am now heartworm negative. 😃  To adopt me, please submit an application to www.viprescue.org   I hope my “fur” ever will come soon, my bags are packed and I’m ready to start my new life! 🐾❤️

FOSTERS HOMES Needed

-How much does it cost to foster at VIP RESCUE?

VIP RESCUE provides the food, vet care, grooming, crate, food/water bowls, leash, harness, etc. YOU provide the love, the shelter, and the nurturing to get your foster dog ready to be adopted. Fosters may need to pick up their dog at an agreed to location near Clearwater/St. Pete and surrounding communities, take your foster dog to a vet appointment for treatment, or travel to a local adoption event with your foster dog.

-Can I foster if I already have dogs for VIP RESCUE?

Of course you can foster if you already have a dog. Sometimes your own dogs act as trainers for your Foster dog! As part of the application and interview process, we’ll ask about your pets and their personalities to make sure that both your furry friends and our rescues will be comfortable together. Be sure to list cats, chickens, goats, etc, you have at your home in your application too! Having a fenced in yard is very beneficial when fostering, because not all foster dogs are used to humans yet or leash walking and having that fenced area to contain them for their safety while working on their social skills is very helpful.

-What if I want to adopt my Foster Dog at VIP RESCUE?

Although this is called “foster failure”, our goal is to place all our pups in a loving home… and if you decide to keep your foster, that is certainly NOT a failure! Sometimes that ONE sneaks into your heart. However, please know that our fosters are asked NOT to go into fostering with the intention of “trying” dogs out to find the one they want. VIP invests considerable time, supplies, and training with new fosters and prefer not to do that if you are only looking to adopt. When a Foster adopts a dog, they pay the same adoption donation as does any adopter.

-Are all foster dogs housebroken already?

Our rescue dogs come from all sorts of situations and until they come in, it is difficult to know their elimination habits. However, with patience and treats, all healthy dogs can learn housebreaking skills! Our experienced fosters can help you to housetrain your foster dog with some easy tips. –

What is fostering at VIP Rescue?

Fostering a dog is taking care of him/her until we can find him/her a loving furever home, which depending on the dog, averages between 1 and 4 weeks. Our foster homes do need to be located in Clearwater/St. Pete and surrounding communities, as we pay for all medical care and grooming at our designated rescue partners. Fosters provide shelter, a patient loving nurturing environment, and work with the dog to become adoptable. Many of our dogs come from animal control on their “last day” so your FOSTER HOME literally allows another dogs life to be saved. As the foster family you are involved in determining the best adopter for your dog. We screen our adoption applicants but the foster family is consulted on potential adopters for their dog, meets the potential adopters and decides whether or not the family is a good match for their dog.

-Ready to apply? Live in the Clearwater/St. Pete and surrounding communities? Complete a VOLUNTEER application and put FOSTER in the Comments.

THANK YOU for opening your heart to FOSTER a RESCUE DOG at VIP RESCUE! ________________________________________________________

FAQ I’m not sure I could give up a dog that had been in my home as a foster. How do you do it? Is it hard? While you definitely get attached to the foster dogs you bring into your home, you should get into it knowing that your purpose is to give them love and help them get prepared for life with their adopting family. It is best to take in a foster dog knowing you are helping save his/her life by doing so, and cry when they leave me for a good family that will love him/her forever, than not foster and wonder if a dog survived death row at a shelter. There is an emotional sacrifice for the sake of giving a dog a second chance at happiness and love, and a high reward in self-esteem for doing so.

Do you pick your foster dog?

Your VIP Foster Coordinator generally picks your foster dogs. Our Foster Coordinators are seasoned Fosters and have a vast range of experience with fostering themselves. Your Foster Coordinator receives a list of the dogs that need rescued from shelters with information like age, heart worm status, breed best guess, weight, gender, a photo. The Foster Coordinator chooses those dogs VIP can rescue most times without ever seeing them in person. The VIP Foster Coordinator in the process of your Foster Home Interview and getting to know your household can best select a foster dog for you based on size, gender, and compatibility with the rescue dog information they have been given. The VIP Rescue staff is great at helping match up Foster Dogs with Foster Homes. The Foster Coordinator receives very little behavior and information on incoming Foster Dogs however they do try to gather all information available to them. VIP Rescue learns the most about our Foster dogs from the Foster Home themselves. Frequent communication about your Foster Dog with your Foster Coordinator is essential in finding the right Adoption Home.

Layla/Seminole

Did you say you want a puppy? Well, you’ve come to the right place!

Layla/Seminole was born 1-31-22, thought to be a Dachshund/Corgi/Terrier Mix. She is current on age-appropriate shots, spayed, micro chipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. Layla’s mom is 25 lbs but dad is unknown so adult weight could range from 25-50 lbs.

Puppies are so adorable. If you own your home and are ready for a bouncy, high energy, puppy … this one is for you!!!! She is ready to begin her journey with you. She is working on pee-pad training and then will graduate to potty training and leash training. If you are willing and able to accept this challenge, and welcome her into your home and heart, you must complete an application at viprescue.org.

Puppies are tons of fun but do require ALOT of work and training on your family’s part to be the best pup they can be! They need love, attention and lots of consistency especially for housebreaking! Their little bladders can’t hold it all day so please make sure you can commit to the puppy not being left along longer than 4 hours during the day.  If that’s not possible, please consider one of our adult dogs which might be better suited for your lifestyle!

Cody/Redington Beach

Well, hello there! My name is Cody, and I’m a 19lb. 5year old Maltese mix. I came to this great rescue because my human wasn’t feeling well and could no longer care for me like they knew I needed to be. Boy, did they make a great decision to bring me to the great VIP Rescue! I was a little sad at first, but I’m treated like a king here and not so sad anymore. My foster home has lots of little doggies like me in it, and we all get along real well! I enjoy going for our leisurely morning walks, then coming home to play with my friends here, then just chilling with my foster Mom while she works. ( I really like her) I’d really like to find my new family, if you have another little doggie already that should be ok, of course we’ll have to meet first. I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, housetrained, and I even had a dental! I’m on heartworm and flea prevention too. Foster Mom says that’s very very important. So, how about it? Wanna meet me? Please visit www.viprescue.org and fill out an adoption application.

Nola/Safety Harbor

Hey there, my name is Nola! I’m a 7 month old 20 lb hound mix kinda girl who is a bundle of love and puppy energy! I’m in this cool place called a “foster home” where they just wubs me and take great care of me too! I’m starting to learn how to walk nicely on a leash, but, (there’s always a “but”, right?) I am a brisk walker and like to go on long walks to burn some of my energy. As I said, I’m really full of puppy energy, so I definitely need a secure fenced in backyard to do my “zoomies” in, and also for us to play in! I love to play catch and fetch with the “humans” in the yard and ear rubs, oh my, I melt for those. Due to my energy level, a home that has lots of time to teach me all the good things in life would be good, one who’s also active, and I’m pretty sure I’d like to go to a puppy obedience class to continue to teach me good doggie manners! Adult(s) and young adult children ok, please no little humans as I am a happy energetic pup. Oh.. and wouldn’t you know it I love to help clean up the yard, lol…see photo attached. My preference would be to have another doggie already, we’ll just have to meet first to make sure we’re gonna be friends “fur”ever. I’m gonna be probably be about 40 ish lbs. when I’m grown up, so please take that into account if you’re interested in me. I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention, crate trained, and 95% potty trained! If you think I’m the pup for you, please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. Hope to meet you soon!

Sylvia/Redington Beach

Sweet sweet little Sylvia. She’s an approximately 8 year old 8 lb little lady who had a really tough life before coming to VIP Rescue. But…..that’s all changed now. She gets a lot of attention, yummy food in her belly and tons of cuddles. Gosh, who wouldn’t want to cuddle her, right? “Sylvie” gets along great with her foster siblings and is truly loving life, probably for the first time. She enjoys her leisurely morning walks with her foster Mom and foster siblings, comes home, and curls up for a nap. Little Sylvia is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. She just had a dental, and doesn’t have many teeth left, but we’re betting she feels a heck of a lot better now that those nasty “toofies” are all gone. More than likely she’ll need to be on a soft diet from now on, but time will tell. Sylvia would do best in an adult only home, and if you have a quiet older doggie at home, she’d probably like that, and of course, we’d do a meet and greet. If you think you might have the home for our little girl, please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application! 🐾❤️

APRIL/Redington

Hi there, it’s me, April! I’m a 13 lb. 3 year old sweetheart! I enjoy being in my foster home and playing with all the other doggies, but I really would like a family to call my own. I enjoy going for walks, but I do need to tell you that the folks here say I’m a “flight risk” which they tell me means that if given the chance, I’ll make a run for it! Not that I want to leave you, but I guess I need to continually explore what’s out there! Foster Mom says that’s not a good thing to do, it’s dangerous, so she watches me very very closely and makes sure my harness is on securely. ( my harness is a must) A secure fenced in yard is a must for me as well. Oh, I almost forgot to ask! How do you like my “do”? My coat is so smooth and snazzy looking, and my long legs just add to my beauty! I’m potty trained (whatever that is 😉) spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. If you’d like to meet me, please visit www.viprescue.org and fill out the adoption application!

Nugget/Redington

Hello! My name is Nugget (cute, huh?) I’m a 3 year old 14 lb. scruffy, terrier type guy. I enjoy following my humans around, staying kinda close is my thing, I also like to go for walks and play with the other pups in my foster home. I’m a total gentleman, an all around good guy. I’m housebroken, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention as well. If you’re looking for a great loving pupper, than I just might be your guy! If you’d like to meet me, please go to www.viprescue.organd fill out an adoption application!

Shirley/Indian Rocks Beach

Beach Hi friends! Meet Shirley. This adorable, friendly, petite girl weighs in at just under 9lbs and is pproximately 12 months old. We believe she is a rat terrier/chihuahua mix. Shirley is affectionate and playful. While she enjoys human companionship and attention, she is also independent and self entertains. She has just started exploring the toy box in her foster home and seems curious and excited with each new find! Shirley is well socialized. She gets along great with other dogs. She has not been tested with cats or kids but would likely do fine with an appropriate introduction and supervision. She walks well on a leash and has been doing great establishing her potty routine. Shirley is very smart, treat motivated, eager to please and highly trainable. She is not a big barker. Shirley has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on her vaccinations and started on flea and heartworm prevention.

Veronica/Myakka City

Born 1-3-22 (12 weeks). She is current on age appropriate shots, spayed, micro chipped and on heartworm and flea prevention.  Puppies are so adorable. If you are ready for a bouncy, high energy, puppy … one of these are for you!!!! Best guess for this pup is thought to be maybe…Some alb, terrier mix, for an adult weight, could be 40-60 lbs. She is ready to begin her journey. She is working on pee-pad training and then will graduate to potty training and leash training. If you are willing and able to accept this challenge, and welcome her into your home and heart, you must complete an application at viprescue.org
Puppies are a lot of fun and a lot of work. Puppies bring life to a home and a lot of work..! Did I say a lot of work?
They require a lot of attention and time and human agility!! As you guide them to a well mannered social companion pet, plan on teaching yourself to teach them to be great companion friends!
In exchange, they will teach you some valuable lessons.
Put your shoes away.
Close all doors, gates and toilet lids.
Phone charging wires are expensive to replace.
You aren’t as young as you think.
You aren’t as quick as you think you are.
You aren’t as smart as you thought your are.
Look before you step.
Training isn’t as simple as you remember.
….just sayin’ !!
You need to be prepared for two years of you being agile, quick to your feet, and very very patient when you react.
Puppies are full of energy bounce and play!
If you are gone all day a puppy is not for you (check out the older dog we have available for adoption)…  At this age they need to be fed 3 times a day.  As they grow they can tolerate longer times between meals and play time. If you are willing and able to accept this challenge, and welcome him/her into your home and heart, you must complete an application at viprescue.org.

Lexy/Maderia Beach

Hello there, I’m Lexy, a lovely 2 year old 25 lb gal. I’m thought to be a beagle, maybe a little hound mix? I came to the great folks here at VIP Rescue with my “kids” in tow, and now I’m looking for my furever home! I’m a really sweet girl who enjoys taking my daily walks ( I still need to lose a few pounds of my baby weight😉). I have lots of energy and enjoy doing zoomies in foster Moms yard with my foster dog friends. I really hope my new home has a fenced in yard, maybe we can play together? I love playing with my toys, but also really like to cuddle up with you and get some belly rubs. In return, I’ll give you the softest kisses❤️.  I am housebroken, spayed, current on my vaccines, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention. Think I might be the girl for you? Please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application.

3. A home where they will be the only pups.

Our names are Reef and Cove, 2 adorable 3 year old BONDED Morkie mix puppers. Reef (that’s ME!) I’m a 7lb boy who is tan in color with kind of a “rough” coat appearance. My “sissy” Cove is a “wittle wittle” 5lb girl, grey and tan in color with a very soft coat. Being the “big” brother, I gotta tell ya’ll, she is the sweetest little sister any boy could ever ask for! I’m considered the “big brother” protector over Cove, we go and do everything and everywhere together. We absolutely need to be adopted together ( sorry, no exceptions!) Our new family needs to be a quiet adult only home and someone home most of the time or what would be really great is if you work at home cuz’ sometimes we get a little anxious. You’ll need to be patient with us, this looking for a new family is all new to us.  We are neutered/spayed, current on our vaccines, microchipped and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. So, what ya think? If you think you might be the family for us, please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. We hope to meet you soon! Licks and Wags, Reef and Cove 🐾❤️🐾❤️

Trixie/Citrus Park

Hi Everyone!!!

My name is Trixie and I’m a happy go lucky little girl! I’m high energy and would love to have brothers or sisters to run and play with, either human or doggy.
I get along great with my doggy sisters and my kitty friends. I haven’t been kid tested, but if you’ll run and play with me I think older kids would be great to hang out with!
I need a fenced in yard with a tall fence (6 ft) so I can run and play and jump around. I like to jump over my pen and on the back of the couch to hang out with my foster dads.
I’m working on potty training getting in to a new routine. I walk great on a leash (double leashed because I’ll run and play if let loose) and would probably be easily trained. I already know how to use the doggy door though.

If you’re interested in a 2 year old frisky, fun, loveable little girl and can handle my puppy energy please put in an application for me.
Fenced yard is a must to keep me safe!

I’m spayed, up to date with my vaccines, micro chipped and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Thanks!
Trixie

Millie/Redington Beach

HI there, my name is Millie! I’m an awesome 15 month old 30 lb. “Rescue mix” gal, maybe a little hound, or a touch of lab with a splash of terrier maybe? Well, it just doesn’t matter because I’m just a bundle of sweetness! I am a little shy when meeting new people, but I tend to warm up nicely once I get to know you. I’m doing fabulous with the other doggies in my foster home, actually, I’d really prefer if you had a playmate for me, someone my size or a bit smaller and who likes to do “zoomies” in the yard! Speaking of yard, my new home needs to have a safe and secure fenced yard for me, cuz’ you see, I’m still a youngin’ who loves to play! Maybe we can play together out there? That’d be great. My preference is, well, I like having my human(s) home more often than not. My foster Mom has learned that I’d really do best in a quieter adult home, too much commotion makes me a little anxious. I’m already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and current on my heartworm and flea prevention. I’m really ready to find my “fur” ever home, maybe that’s with you? Please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. Hope to meet you very soon!

Viva/Seminole

Meet happy, healthy, curious, playful, energetic and VERY smart Viva! This gorgeous girl is a mix of possibly German short hair pointer and wire haired terrier, nonetheless she’s absolutely beautiful! Viva currently weighs 53 lbs, and is just 1 year old. She is working hard on her house training ( she’s almost there!) as well as her leash walking manners. Viva is young and full of energy, yet she will lay quietly while her foster Mom hosts a Zoom meeting. Viva needs a home with a fenced yard! Viva interacts well with children, but we do recommend they bit a bit older ( 8+) due to all that energy. Viva is going to make an awesome member of the family, and is anxiously waiting for that perfect application to come in! Viva is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. If this is the girl for you, hurry and get that application in at www.viprescue.org

Malcolm/Redington Beach

Hi! I could be a cover model, I’m such a handsome long haired Chihuahua ( I’m a rescue, so no guarantees, I might have something else mixed in there!) and if you’re familiar with Chi’s ( let’s not generalize) well, maybe…you know what that means, right? Ha! I’m a small bundle of joy with a HUGE personality!!! Let’s step back and allow me to introduce myself. I’m Malcolm, a secret agent and you have no idea what I’m going to do or say, lol… I’m sweet as honey “most” of the time, but when I’m working ( remember the secret agent part) and possibly guarding my bed, my food, a toy or maybe something you can’t see, I sound fierce! If you distract me or redirect that “fierceness” I’m back to sweet as honey in a flash. I’m just 6 years old and have been a secret agent most of my life. I am 6 lbs. of pup, and 2 lbs. of fur, so I guess that means I’m all of 8 lbs, right? With all this “secret agent” stuff, I think my new family should be adults, cuz, you know, they can help me with my mission should I be called upon, Ha! I’m neutered ( you know how these rescue people are, they don’t want my genes spread around) I’ve been vaccinated and microchipped too as well as started on heartworm and flea prevention. If you so choose to take on the mission of being my accomplice in life, please fill out an application at www.viprescue.org. This message will self destruct upon my adoption! lol…lol… Hope to meet you soon.

Brynn/Seminole

Hi, my name is Brynn! I’m a 1 year old 12 lb. Minpin/dachshund mix girl all rolled into one! It really doesn’t matter, I’m just a great doggie! I’m a happy girl who is doing really well with the other foster pups in the house, and guess what???? I’m house trained already, isn’t that just swell! Yeah me! I’m learning this thing called “leash walking”, never heard of it before but foster Mom is teaching me. Yeah, we’re gonna have to work on that one for sure! lol… I’ve been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and started on heartworm and flea prevention too. Think I might be the girl for you? Please fill out an adoption application at www.viprescue.org   See ya soon! Licks and wags, Brynn

Maxwell/Seminole

Hey there my Florida friends, It’s me, Maxwell! I just got here to Florida, and wow, is it nice here! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a 1 year old 13 lb. Piebald Dachshund mix! I’m a really happy go lucky fella, who is also quite the active boy! I’ll definitely need a family that’s active or if you have another active pupper in the house that’d be ok too! I’m all about that play play play game! Heck, I’m still a puppy! Ha! I’ve been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and started on heartworm and flea prevention as well. I am ready to roll! Got some new digs for me? I sure hope so! If you think I’m the guy for you, go ahead and fill out an adoption application www.viprescue.org

Buffy/Seminole

Hi there, my name is Buffy! I’m a 3 year old 13 lb. wire coat Jack Russell/ dachshund mix girl. I’ve been told I’m just full of sweetness! I’m a bit nervous and a little cautious when I first meet someone, but it just takes me a few minutes to warm up and then I’m a happy wiggly butt girl looking for those famous Florida belly rubs! Gosh, do I love belly rubs. I’ve been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and have been started on my heartworm and flea prevention. I’m searching for my new “fur” ever family, could that be YOU? please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. Hope to meet you soon!

Mazey/Redington Beach

I’d like to introduce myself, I’m Mazey! ( my friends at VIP Rescue call me “Lazy” Mazey!) Those funny rescue people, Ha!  Anywho,  I’m a super 7 lb. 9 year young Chihuahua mix gal. I found myself needing a new family, and a VIP Rescue foster fell in love with me and took me right in. ( of course they fell in love with me, who wouldn’t, right?) I have several foster puppers to play with here, so if you have another doggie at home already, please bring them to meet me to make sure we get along. I’ve not been cat tested, but I think I would do ok, it’s all about the introduction thing, right? Nice and S.L.O.W. and we should be fine!

I do great on a leash, I’m house trained (woohoo!) and just LOVE to cuddle up with foster Mommy. She’s the bestest, I follow her e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e!  Oh, and I like car rides too! I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, had a recent dental and am on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. So, how about it, huh? If you’d like to meet me, please go to www.viprescue.org and fill out an adoption application, ok? Hope to meet you VERY soon! Licks and wags, “Lazy” Mazey!

Trey/Holiday

Hi everyone.  Trey here.  I’m a 9 year old Chihuahua mix who weights about 10lbs and is very easy going.  I just had a dental and only have a few teeth left, so I must eat soft canned food, for the rest of my life which is just fine with me!  I’m current on all my annual vaccinations and monthly medications for fleas & ticks and heartworm.  I’m also microchipped.  As they say, I’m ready for my furever home!

I just love my foster parents.  I love to follow them everywhere and show my happiness by constantly wagging my tail. I love to lay on the couch with my blanket or jump up onto a soft chair.  I love all the other dogs in my foster home too!

I’m still working on my housetraining since coming to my new foster home.  My foster parents take me out several times a day as we work on establishing a routine. I like to go for leash walks and generally find a place with just the right odor to get me going.

I know you’ll fall in love with me if you make the effort to meet me.  In order to do that you have to fill out an application at viprescue.org, and the nice people there will take it from there.  I’m looking forward to meeting you soon.

Bella/Holiday

I’m an adorably sweet 6 year old Chihuahua mix named Bella! I’m here with my new friends at VIP Rescue in search of my new family, could that be yours? I’m a little shy at first, but warm up nicely when I get to know you, and then I’m called the “velcro” doggie! Aren’t my friends funny? I like my morning walks, and enjoy the company of the other dogs in my foster home. I know I’d do best in a quieter adult home, if you have another doggie that’d be ok or I can be your one and only as well. I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, had a fresh dental, and current on my monthly flea and heartworm prevention too. Would you like to meet me? Sure hope so! Please go to www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application!

Lenny/Largo

Well hi there you amazing people! My name is Lenny, an amazing senior boy, thought to be around 10 ish or so, and kind of a mix between a Sheltie and a Shetland sheep doggie kinda guy! It doesn’t really matter though, because I’m just a gentle soul who loves to hang out with my people snuggling with them, watching T.V., you know, all those good things in life! I do like to go for an occasional walk, especially because I’m a little ” um, heavy”, ( currently 37 lbs.) and slow moving at times. My great friends here at VIP Rescue have put me on a reduced fat diet that I’ll need to stay on. I get along with the other fosters in my home, so if you have another calm doggie at home, I’d like to meet them first to make sure we’ll be great friends. I’ve been groomed, had a fresh dental, I’m current on my vaccines, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. To meet me, please fill out an adoption application at www.viprescue.org. Hope to meet you soon!

Harley/Redington Beach

It’s a great day here in Florida, wanna know why? Because I’m Harley, and I’m currently interviewing for my new “fur”ever family! I’m a 5 year old, 9 lbs. hunk of love who is thought to be maybe a little Norfolk/Norwich/ Yorkie kinda mix? Heck, that doesn’t matter, what matters is that you’ll come an adopt me! I’m definitely a snuggle buddy who will follow you everywhere I can. You see, I have some separation anxiety so a home where my new Mom and/or Dad work from home or are retired would be ideal! I’m a work in progress on my house training, but I’m getting there. You’ll need to keep working on that with me, ok? I do get along with the other doggies in my foster home, and enjoy an early morning walk before it gets to warm outside, cuz’ you know, the heats not good on our little feets! I’ve not been around cats or kids, so I’m not sure about them. I’ve been neutered, vaccinated, micrchipped, had a fresh dental and am on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. So how about it, huh? Do I sound like the guy for you? If so, please go to www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application.

Valentine Litter/Redington Beach

DOB 1-3-22, available for adoption!!

He is current on age appropriate shots, neutered, micro chipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. Puppies are so adorable. If you are ready for a bouncy, high energy, puppy … one of these is for you!!!! Best guess for this specialty rescue pup, thought to be maybe…Terrier/Lab mix and something terrier mix, for an adult weight, could be 40-60 lbs. He is ready to begin his journey. He is working on pee-pad training and then will graduate to potty training and leash training. If you are willing and able to accept this challenge, and welcome him into your home and heart, pleas respond to this email.

If you are willing and able to accept this challenge, and welcome her into your home and heart, please let us know..

If not….. Please check back as we get pups in all the time.

Mickey/Redington Beach

Hi humans, I’m Mickey, people tell me i’m a Beagle mix, a year old and a perfect weight of 21 lbs.

I’m even tempered, happy guy. I love to play with the fosters pups in my home, take naps and cuddle. I am not fond of cats..it wold be best to not have them in my home. I’m good with most other similar or a little bigger pups, and I would be ok with respectful kids over the age of 8… they like to play. My foster mom has notice I do guard my food a little bit… who wouldn’t .. food is yummy..and I love to eat.

I’m neutered, up to date with vaccines, micro-chipped and on monthly heartworm / flea prevention.

To welcome Mickey into your home and family you must submit an application with VIPRescue.org.

Jackie/Redington Beach

Jackie is thought to be a breed known as a Feist, We had not heard of this breed before, this lead to some research, and she is a combination of a Ret Terrier and Jack Russell.

She is beautiful, even tempered, fun lov’in, 27 lbs of happy girl. She is house trained and a delight on a leash. She loves to sit outside and watch the squirrels and birds in the trees or hangout with her human and snuggle. She also loves to play with her toys or go for long walks, she also has a foster pups in the home and she will wrestle and play in the yard with them. Sounds like an all around flexible kind of gal.

Jackie, is spayed, up to date with her vaccines, micro-chipped and on monthly heartworm / flea prevention.

To welcome Jackie into your family you must submit an application with VIPRescue.org.

Finn/Maderia Beach

This adorable little man is Finn. He is a 1 year old 18 lb “beagley” mix pupper. Finn can be a little shy and submissive at first meet, but warms up nicely once he is comfortable. He gets along well with other dogs and really enjoys the company of “his” people, almost like a little “lamb” as in Mary had a little lamb! Finn walks well on a leash and is doing great with his potty training. He, like some of our other doggies in our foster homes, enjoys exploring outside and relaxing in this amazing weather we have here in Florida.

Finn is neutered, up to date on his vaccines and microchipped. Finn is another Heartworm positive dog that recently came in to our Rescue. but PLEASE… don’t let that change your mind about him. VIP Rescue will take care of ALL the costs of his treatment, you just have to live close enough to take him to his time sensitive treatment appointments at our Vet in S. Pinellas County. One thing you must do until Finn has completed his treatment in a few months is to keep him fairly calm and quiet. By that we mean very short leash walks only and no running in the yard. But, after he’s completed treatment and tested negative, he can go back to doing all the things dogs love to do! ( but not before!) VIP will discuss all of the important details regarding a heartworm positive doggie with his adopter. If you’d like to adopt Finn, please fill out an adoption application at www.viprescue.org

Angel/Indian Rocks Beach

Meet Angel, a 22 lb mini red merle Australian Shepherd. Angel is approximately 13 years old. She was an owner surrender and but for her reported age, we would have guessed her to be at least a few years younger. Her eyes are clear and a beautiful shade of blue. She hears just fine, although sometimes it is a bit selective in nature. When she arrived, she was in need of a pretty extensive dental, which VIP Rescue has taken care of. She also had a benign growth on her face/cheek which was removed and her stitches will come out soon.

Angel is playful and energetic. She is housebroken and walks well on leash. Her prior home had a doggie door so she knows how those work too. She enjoys leisurely walks and literally prances around just being outdoors. After her exercise, she likes to curl up nearby and nap. She is affectionate and friendly, but can be shy, especially if rushed or feels overwhelmed.

Angel is very soft mannered and gentle. She seeks someone of similar temperament. An easy to care for dog, looking for a forever home to live out her golden years and bless someone with her lifetime companionship. She would do fine in a home as a solo dog, but she also gets along well with others, including kids so long as they are chill and respectful. We suspect she would do fine with dog socialized cats as well.
Angel is spayed and has had a fresh dental. She is up to date on her vaccines, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. Interested in welcoming this beautiful senior into your home? If so, please apply today at

Timber/St. Pete

Hey there, My name is Timber, a handsome dude who’s a 1 year old 15 lb Chihuahua mix guy! I’ve recently arrived in the great state of Florida, happily hanging out in the sun and watching the birds go by. I’m enjoying my foster home, and my foster Mom says I’m potty and crate trained, walk well on a leash and I sleep through the night too! YES! All that wrapped up in one cool dude! Some of my favorite things are lots of kisses and couch cuddles, and I’ve been told I’m super friendly with friends and strangers alike. I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention as well. I am heartworm positive, but PLEASE… don’t let that change your mind about me. My pals at VIP Rescue take care of ALL the costs of my treatment, you just have to live close enough to take me to my time sensitive treatment appointments at our Vet in S. Pinellas County. One thing you must do until I’ve completed my treatment in a few months is to keep me fairly calm and quiet. By that I mean very short leash walks only and no running in the yard. But, after I’m all better, I can go back to doing zoomies! ( but not before!)  My friends at VIP will discuss all of the important details regarding a heartworm positive doggie. If you’d like to adopt me,  please fill out an adoption application at www.viprescue.org

Stanley/Seminole

Say Hello to Stanley!  Stanley is a 20 lb, 19 month old male Schipperke-Pomeranian mix who is looking for his furever home.

This handsome boy adores all people and will quickly accept you into his life and follow you everywhere!

Stanley is dog friendly and would probably be cat friendly as well.  He does well on a leash  and gets very excited to see it come out because he is so smart he knows it means he’s going for a walk!   Not only is Stanley smart, but he is also quite curious and would do best in a home that can provide him with both mental and physical exercise on a daily basis.  Stanley would love to have a home with a fenced yard so that he can safely explore his surroundings.

Stanley has a beautiful soft chocolate brown coat that will need regular brushing to keep it silky and matt-free.

Stanley is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
If Stanley sounds like your furever match, please complete an application.

Babette/Benjamin BONDED PAIR – Indian Rocks Beach

Babette/Benjamin- Indian Rocks Beach

BONDED PAIR/Available for Adoption

Meet Babette and Benjamin.

This adorable pair of BONDED yorkies is now available for adoption. Bonded means they are attached to one another. They need to be adopted together, WE WILL NOT SEPARATE THEM. The adopter will also agree to keep them together as part of the adoption contract.

Babette is 8 years old and weighs 9lbs. Benjamin is 10 years old and weighs 8lbs. They found their way to VIP Rescue through a local owner surrender. Upon intake, both had overgrown and matted hair. They also had skin irritation and hair loss from allergies and likely less than ideal hygiene. Since arriving at VIP, both Babette and Benjamin have flourished. They have received their necessary medical care, including fresh dentals. Babette had an ear infection and that has been treated. She also had the more significantly noticeable skin inflammation and hair loss but has been doing great and is well on her way to recovery. Benjamin had a benign skin growth on his hind hip area that was removed, and he is elated to announce his stitches are out and he is finally cone free!! Babette and Benjamin are both well socialized, playful dogs. Their forever home could have other dogs, but they would also enjoy a place where they are the recipients of all the human love. Older respectful children in the household would be fine. They have not been tested with cats. They both enjoy outdoors, and walk well on a leash. We continue to work on housebreaking skills but with consistency and routine, both of them are doing well. Neither of them like the cold or rain/wet grass so that has also hampered our outdoor time and progress the last couple of weeks. They are treat motivated, eager to please and will adjust quickly once settled into their new forever home.

Babette and Benjamin are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, on flea and heartworm prevention and have both just had dentals. Again, this is a BONDED PAIR. We will not separate them and therefore, we are only seeking applicants who are willing to adopt them both. Do you have room in your heart and home for Babette and Benjamin? If so, please apply today at VIPRescue.org click on link to be directed to application submission.https://viprescue.org/jobs/apply/?j=772

Lizzy/Redington Beach

Hey there rescue world!!  I’m Lizzy, and am so thankful I found my way to VIP Rescue.  I have a loving foster family, a soft bed and lots of yummy food in my belly. I was surrendered by my humans and am in search of a new place to call home. I’m a 2 year old, 25 lbs, beautiful Min-pin mix. I’m a little timid, so I will need my people to be patient with me, and together we will figure it out one day at a time.  I will need a home with a fenced in yard as I love to be outside sitting and soaking up this amazing Florida sunshine or hanging out in the shade on a warm day of course with my human close by.  I am learning the leash thing, doing pretty darn good, but again, one day at a time.  I get along with the other foster pups in my foster home, but there are none of those 4 legged critters called “cats” here, so I’m definitely not sure about them.Ha!  I am working on my house manners, and if I am taken outside regularly, I do my business outside.  I am spayed, micro-chipped, up to date with my vaccines and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.    What do you say, how about submitting an application with VIPRescue.org and maybe we can meet? I’d really really like that! Wags and licks, Lizzy

Zoey / Redington Beach

This beautiful girl is Zoey! She’s a 14 month old 26lb. Pomeranian/American Eskimo gal who recently joined our Rescue. Zoey is a very happy, playful and quite active young lady. She gets along with most pups, but understand, she definitely is the Alpha in the house, so another dog that won’t compete with her and can “handle their own”would be best. She loves being outdoors, so a fenced in yard with an active family that would play in the yard with her would be “pawsome”. Zoey loves to go for walks, and when she’s not too “busy” being a puppy, she’ll happily chew on her puppy appropriate chew toys, or even catch a snuggle with you to watch some T.V. Miss Zoey is spayed, current on her vaccinations, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention and is working real hard on her house training, with just an occasional accident here and there. If you do have another dog in the home already, a meet and greet would be necessary to make sure the doggies will get along. If you’re interested in Zoey, please go to www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. Zoey can’t wait to meet her new family, could that be yours?click on link to be directed to application submission.https://viprescue.org/jobs/apply/?j=772

Lucy-Dachshund/Holiday

Hi, I’m Lucy, a very young 12 year old Dapple Dachshund.  I say I’m very young because, even though I’m an older gal, I am very playful and energetic, more like a dog half my age. Now, if only my foster sisters and brother would play with me I’d be the happiest dog in the house.

I came to VIP Rescue because my humans got divorced and where they live now does not welcome dogs, even well-behaved dogs like me. So, here I am in search of a new family who will play with me, and definitely let me snuggle up and more importantly to just chill with me, enjoying this wonderful thing called life.  I immediately took to my new foster parents, they happily oblige me by petting me whenever I ask. Life is good!  Better yet, I knew what the doggie doors are (it took me about 5 minutes to find and use them), and haven’t had one accident in the house in the entire time I’ve been with my new foster parents. What a good girl I am! I do have a cataract in my left eye, but that doesn’t slow me down one bit. And that skin irritation I had seems to be under control with the medication the dogtor gave me. You may be surprised when you first see me, as I’m not your average looking Doxie. I’m larger (longer and taller) than you’d expect, I’m just over 28 pounds and Dapple color. So whatya think, huh? Am I the gal for you??? I sure hope so, I just know my new “fur”ever home is out there. I’m current on all my vaccines, spayed, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention, I’ve also had a fresh dental. Woo hoo!If you’d like to meet me, please submit an application at VIPRescue.org and the wonderful people there will swing into action. I can’t wait to meet you!

Bebe/Seminole

Bebe aka Beatrix/SeminoleAvailable for adoption!!!VIPRescue.orgWhat do you get when you mix a Pug with a Lab? Bebe! If your next question is what is a Bebe, well, I will be happy to explain. Bebe is Beatrix, a 4 year old female, weighing 41 lbs. who’s favorite activities include: eating, playing, running, snuggling and sleeping .Bea originally came to us from a hoarding situation. She was adopted out to a loving home with a canine sister. Because of her food aggressive behavior she was returned to VIP. Given her background, with food aggression, she needs to be an only dog in the home. With that said, she has learned to become a dog who loves human attention. Her favorite activities are chasing balls, squirrels and bunnies in the yard, chewing on squeaky toys and bones, snuggling with her humans and eating. Bea plays well with her foster sister, running and playing in the back yard. She walks well on a leash regardless if she is the only dog on the walk or in a pack. She also sleeps quietly in a dog bed or chews on one of her favorite toys or bones, while her foster mom works from home on the computer. Bebe is healthy, up to date on all of her vaccines, spayed and on monthly heartworm/flea prevention. She is also very smart. She mastered the dog door immediately and uses it to potty in the yard. Buddy/Indian Rocks Beach

Meet Buddy, an 8 year old, 13 lb male Shih Tzu/Maltese mix looking for his forever home.

Simply put, Buddy is absolutely precious. Mild mannered, laid back and chill, but he also thoroughly enjoys activities and adventures! He is social, gentle natured, easy going, cuddly, soft and fluffy!! His name honestly could not fit him any better! He is a devoted friend and seeks a lifelong human companion.

Buddy is very well socialized and gets along with other dogs. Buddy would do fine in an only dog home; however, if you have a dog, a meet and greet will be required to assess compatibility. Buddy prefers his dog companions to be similar in temperament and personality as he is – respectful and calm. He is also good with respectful, dog socialized kids. Cats are unknown, but given his temperament, Buddy would likely be fine with a household cat.

Buddy is house broken. He walks very well on leash and is used to multiple walks a day. He would like his companion to continue to take him on explorations and adventures. Buddy travels well in a car. He enjoys bicycling as well, he even has basket riding experience!

Buddy has just had a nice fresh dental. He is neutered and microchipped, updated on his vaccinations and is current on his monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Does Buddy sound like a good match for you? If so, please apply today at VIPRescue.org

Angus/Redington Beach

Hello Rescue World! My name is Angus, and I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a 8 year old 24 lb. “purebred lap/cuddle bug” pupper! I’ve been told that I’m a great boy, and I’m looking for an active home, especially one that likes to take walks, because you see, I could stand to  lose a few pounds, you know what I mean? I am on a reduced fat diet, so hopefully with that and my walks, I’ll be slim and trim in no time. I do enjoy leisurely walks, but I must be honest…I will stop and sniff every blade of grass, every mailbox post, every weed, you get the picture, right? My new family can teach me how to walk without stopping every 2 seconds to “smell the roses” Ha! I really would love a yard so I can chase the lizards, squirrels etc. I won’t hurt them, I just LOVE the chase! So, with that being said, foster Mom thinks my new home should not have any of those “kitties”, ok? I do well with other doggies, even though I’ve always been the “only child” most of my life. It does take me a little while to warm up, so an adult only home is definitely my preference. I just need them to be patient with me and give me time to adjust to my new home. So friends, what do you think? Maybe you’re looking for that special cuddle bug? Well, here I am! I’m already neutered, current on my vaccines, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Please submit your application to www.viprescue.org

Enzo/Venice ADOPTION PENDING

Meet ENZO, the Ferrari Fast Pup!  Enzo is an 18-month-old puppy; an apricot Schnoodle weighing in at 16lbs. born 8.1.2020.  Are you looking for an Agility Prospect?  Could this be your man?  Enzo is a very loving but strong-willed puppy.  He responds positively to kindness, love, and consistent firm guidance.  His new owner must be firm and patient; pushovers need not apply.  He loves people, he is a social dog, and would like to be your companion from sunrise to sundown.  He loves discovering new people, places, and things. He is accustomed to being crated when left home alone but Enzo prefers to accompany you wherever you go.  When it’s time to go to bed, after a full day of play, he happily retreats to his crate in your bedroom.   He enjoys dining out with you, going on boat rides, frequenting dog-friendly venues, and romping with dogs his own size.  He is accustomed to being crated while riding in the car to your destination and on road trips.  Enzo loves to cuddle at home while you are watching a movie and chilling.  He loves neck and chin rubs, belly rubs, and to give hugs. Enzo is a submissive dog, and does well with dogs that do not take advantage of him because of their size. He should not be around dogs that play aggressively.  He would be agreeable to a fun playmate of like energy that will join in running or chasing, or he would also do well being an only dog in your home.

Enzo’s Routine:  Enzo is accustomed to daily romps at his playground.  Enzo loves to play ball and requires a fenced yard.   For safety, Enzo should be supervised when outside so he doesn’t try to dig, dine on geckos or other critters, or get carried away by a predator.  Enzo knows that backyards are for playing whether it be for agility training, running with his buddies, or playing ball.  Enzo loves to be in the middle of the action. He’s even learning to catch a ball in the air and bring it back.  Enzo is not a pool dog, and should never be left unaccompanied by a pool.  He enjoys daily leash walks and if you like jogging, that could be a bonus!  Enzo needs  to be groomed every 6-8 weeks, frequent ear cleaning, frequent tooth brushing, and daily brushing.

Enzo’s Training:  Enzo has passed Obedience Training, and two Agility Courses where he was a Rockstar.  We recommend continuing training for his new home because Enzo is a puppy and still learning.  Close supervision in the house is also essential since he is a thief and will get into things – typical puppy behavior!  Enzo is very fast, aka Enzo Ferrari, and loves to be chased and can outrun most dogs, leading the pack while getting very excited and vocal to entertain you.  Enzo is very smart and is crate trained, house trained, and fantastic walking on a leash.  Enzo is not a destructive dog, but he will steal Kleenex’s you leave accessible, so shame on you if that happens!   Enzo has learned many words and commands; he learns quickly as he is so smart!

Additional Training Needed:  Enzo knows the COME command, however, it needs more work and if you allow him in a non-fenced area……he will run……he will not come.   Enzo is still in training for resource guarding, and an owner who is experienced in this area would be best. Enzo has not guarded his own food or his toys – just items he finds and steals.  He does not allow you to take them away without trading for high value treats!  It is possible to manage Enzo’s resource guarding by keeping him away from dangerous items he can pick up, offering him high value treats in “trade”, as well as teaching him to drop foreign objects in his mouth that may harm him, using positive reinforcement. It may be necessary for you to seek additional help from a behavioral consultant.  We highly recommend continued professional training for all our rescue dogs.

ENZO’S WISH LIST FOR HIS NEW HOME:

-Continue his current Diet:  Small Batch Dog Chicken and Zignature Pork, all Grain free.

-Training:  Continue training on “Come “to be reliable inside and outside, and “Drop It” to manage resource guarding and safely remove foreign objects from his mouth.

-An experienced handler looking for an agility partner.

-Experienced with managing resource guarding and training a strong-willed dog; able to show you are in charge – but kind and patient.

-Are you home most of the time?  Are you willing to take Enzo with you when you go boating, out to eat, or to pet-friendly venues?

-Enjoy walking, running, and exercising Enzo frequently with both mental and physical stimulation?

-Will you accompany Enzo in your fenced back yard at all times?

-Provide frequent grooming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing?

-Are you ready for a puppy and have time to devote to a puppy?

-No children under 12 in your home?

-No other dogs would be great, but one other dog that plays well with others would be agreeable to Enzo? .

WHY IS ENZO BEING REHOMED?  Enzo’s owner has health conditions that are not conducive to keeping Enzo.  Enzo has had the highest quality of care, his owner has been exemplary in training, grooming, diet, and all aspects of his life.  His owner is fostering him for VIP Rescue so that all the training he has received, and his routine are passed along to the new owner first hand.

WHERE IS ENZO:  Enzo is being fostered in Venice, Florida.  If your Adoption Application is approved, you will be required to travel to Venice, FL if you choose to meet him.  A home visit is a prerequisite before adopting Enzo.

ENZO’s Diet:  Enzo has some food sensitivities. Several foods have been tried to determine the best food for Enzo.  You need to commit to continue feeding his current foods:

ENZO MEDICAL:  Enzo is neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations and preventatives.  He is microchipped.  Enzo is a healthy puppy.

APPLY for ENZO:  If you have read and can provide Enzo’s Wish List for his new home, please fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION at www.viprescue.org   We adopt to Florida residents only. Once we receive your adoption application, we will contact you if you are approved for Enzo.

ENZO’s ADOPTION DONATION:   Enzo comes with his crate, some flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, leash, collar, and microchip.  Enzo’s adoption donation is $450.

Lillian/Maderia Beach

Hello friends, my name is Lillian and I am the sweetest, loving little, 14 lbs, four-year-old girl. I am spayed, micro chipped and up to date on all my vaccines. I’ve also started monthly heartworm / flea prevention. I get along well with my foster sister and have met new friends on my walks in my foster mom and dad‘s neighborhood.  They aren’t sure if I even have a barker because I’m quiet as a mouse.  I’m great on a leash, I’m crate trained and I go potty outside.   If you want a perfect sleeping partner then I’m your new family member. I will crawl under the covers and snuggle up to keep your feet warm and these cold nights. You must submit an application to be considered for adoption. Hope to see you soon. viprescue.org

Laine and Rose – BONDED / Tavares, FL

Friends, we’d like to re-introduce Laine and Rose to you. ( their original story is below this update)

The girls originally came to us as a bonded pair back in June of 2021, both very shy and timid. After 4+ months of TLC in their foster home(s) these amazing girls were adopted into a loving home, but sadly, due to personal issues with the adopter and no fault of their own, they are now back with VIP Rescue. They are still very much bonded to each other, with Laine being the more outgoing of the two, and Rose more reserved. The girls are so loving, and all they ask for is a new family to share their love with. We understand not alot of people want to adopt 2 dogs at once, but we know deep down in our hearts, there’s a home out there for the both of them! If you are interested and have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via email. Until that “fur” home comes along, we’ll continue to love on them and help them to flourish. Please feel free to share this post far and wide, the power of Social Media is amazing!

Well hello there! Think you’re seeing double? No need to have your eyes checked, because yes, there are two of us lovelies! We are 5 year old sisters, 16-18 lbs, Laine and Rose.  We were surrendered to a shelter, and then we hit the doggie jackpot when the shelter foster home contacted VIP Rescue to take us!! YES!!!  We just knew we were going to be ok from here on in. With the help from a few foster homes, we are absolutely learning what love is, and we now trust our human friends. It does take us a while to warm up, so patience, and more patience is what we will need to warm up to our new family and in return you will get soft kisses and gentle pawing for some belly rubs.  At this time, we think it’s best if we went to an adult only home where we will be your only puppers.  We have learned to play, we love to chase each other around the yard and wrestle, and we’re actually doing pretty darn good with going on walks! Our new home will require a 6 ft fence as we have discovered this new thing called “life” and love to play and jump around in the yard. We have been spayed ( thank goodness, no more babies for us!) vaccinated and microchipped. We are still learning the house training rules, so you’ll need to continue with that as well with us.   So, how about it? Think we might be the girls for you?  We sure hope so!  Please fill out an adoption application, and this “paw”some rescue will put you in touch with our amazing foster Mom! We hope to hear from you soon!

Manny/Indian Rocks Beach

Manny is a 1 1/2 year old, male cocker spaniel. He weighs 19lbs. Although Manny is initially shy, once he warms up to you, his loving personality shines through and he will absolutely win your heart over! He is energetic, playful, eager to learn and very trainable.

Manny gets along great with other dogs and **he would do best in a home with an already established confident social do**. He has some anxiety, which is greatly relieved with the company of another dog. A meet and greet will be required.

Manny is crate trained. He walks pretty well on a leash, although we don’t think he has had much practice. He is working on his potty skills and needs someone willing to continue to work with him on his housebreaking.

Manny has not been tested with kids, however his foster believes given his personality, temperament and breed, he would likely do well with respectful supervised children. He also has not been tested with cats, however, again his foster believes he would be fine introduced to an already dog socialized cat.

Manny has been neutered, microchipped, is up to date on his vaccinations and has been started on heartworm and flea prevention. He is now ready to find his forever home!!

Interested in meeting Manny? Please submit an application today to VIPRescue.org

Gia/St Pete

Hey there friends, my name is Gia! My peeps here at VIP Rescue say I’m a 15 lbs, 9 month old Shih Tzu mix and that I’m a total love bug! Those rescue people are funny, huh? ( I love them though, because they rescued me.) Anyway, I really like staring out the window and sitting in the yard soaking up all this Florida sun! A fenced yard would be great for these past times. But, you know what I like the bestest? Cuddling with my humans! I’m doing ok on my leash walks, my foster human said I have this thing called ” stranger danger”. If I don’t know you, or I see another dog or a man, I bark for a little while until I get to know them. I’m still a work in progress, same with my potty training, I’m like 99% there! Sometimes loud noises scare me too, so I think my new family should be with adults or a home with older children because the little kids would make me too nervous. Would that be ok? I’d really like that. Just so you know, I’m spayed, up to date on my vaccines, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. I am also crate trained, I’m good with and without it. Got some room at the Inn for me? You can fill out an adoption application at www.viprescue.org

Elly/Cirtus Park

Hi guys! My name is Elly and I’m a little bundle of energy and love! I’m about 9 months old and 15 pounds.
My foster dads think I give the best kisses! I like to snuggle, play with my foster dog sisters and kitty brother, run zoomies around the house and play with my toys. So far I haven’t met anyone I can’t get along with. I think I’d really like a brother or sister (dog or human) so I have someone to play around with. It would be great too if I had a fenced yard to run and play in. I have a lot of energy that needs somewhere to go!  I’m working on my potty training and will need help with that. I am ok on a leash, but am not really interested yet in walking my human. I have been using the potty pads like my sisters and I’ve learned how to use the doggy door!  I am ok sleeping in my own bed or with my dad in his bed. I’ve been sleeping through the night too!
My foster dads say I’d be great with an active family who has time to play with me and wants someone to give them lots of love!   I’m up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed and on heartworm/flea monthly prevention.  You must submit an application with viprescue.org to be considered for adoption.

Theo/Seminole

Say hi to Theo! Theo is approximately two years old and weighs in at about 15 pounds. He is thought to be a Jack Russell Terrier mix.  Theo is very playful and would love to have another dog his size to play with. He is very gentle and plays extremely well with other dogs. He also loves to play with his toys and empties his toy box on a daily basis! Theo also loves the company of people and is very affectionate. He will be your shadow, and snuggle with you.

Theo is great on a leash and enjoys walking. He does have a bit of a prey instinct.  He would love to have a nice secure fenced yard so he can explore.

Theo is heart worm positive and his new family will need to live close to our Vet in Indian Rocks Beach for his timely heart worm treatments over the next few months.  A VIP Volunteer will go over all the protocol with you, along with the “do’s” and “don’t’s” of a heart worm positive dog until treatment is complete.  VIP of course, covers the cost of the heart worm treatment.

Theo is neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention too.  To welcome Theo you must submit an application with viprescue.org
